Totally support this nomination ! If we are enraged by inappropriate content on IL we should also be enraged when scientifically inaccurate information is put up.

I am usually chirpy and trippy. On a scale of 0-10, I am 13 happy. That is how ridiculously excited I am as a person (for no reason). I have a low profile in IL. I 'hola' to hardly 4-5 members in IL. I furtively post sappy love stories in the middle of the stilled night when the crowd has dispersed or ramble away in QPQ, the outpost. These are the only two activities I have focussed on here at IL.

(Arey ..Ira pakao mat ..kya bolna chahthi ho?) I mean, I am not easily stunned as a person because I can only be overwhelmed in my joyful state within myself in me by I. But never popped out my eyes emotionally! I am surprised and stunned and shaken-up and stirred and stoked (ok, I should close my dictionary now) with this thoughtful gesture of nominating my anguish towards still prevalent unfounded superstitions.

Rihana is a friend, Yellowmango is a well-wisher, but you, Sandycandy, are a complete stranger (which makes it even more special). I am touched much beyond dictionary and thesaurus words today. I might write up again later and ack properly when I refer to Bibliotheca Classica for any obscure and highfalutin words that I might sneak in to compose my honest gratitude. I have only been bold but you ladies have been avant-garde, may be even violated a rule or two by nominating my thundering post. Much obliged! I should start a #youtoo campaign now (kidding). That said, I don't want you ladies to get into any trouble with this nomination. Main toh would grandiloquently and playfully compose an apologetic(a) when the subpoena is sent out on my transgression. Love you all. Ta!

Wow! Three nominations for the same two posts one after the other! Now that is what I call overwhelming support.
Have read both the posts mentioned and yes, Iravati has presented her opinion very articulately. The topic is a controversial one and we all have our own opinions on them. Naturally there have been a lot of arguments from both sides.
Not being a geologist, I am not aware of different kinds of rocks etc. Nor would traditional geology give us a lot of information on 'male' or 'female' rocks. What I read was pretty interesting. Unfortunately, I do not know Sanskrit, and so it is not possible for me to verify personally whether there are any such references in our texts. I might be willing to accept that there are a lot of things unknown to our 'conventional' sciences (and I believe that absence of evidence does not imply something is a 'myth' or non-existent) and so would not write anything off completely. However, I cannot accept the terms 'scientifically proven' unless there is any kind of reference provided of original papers or review articles. These two words are floating around a lot these days and are often used loosely, leading people to genuinely believe that the matter is clinched.
We all need to have open minds both ways and just keep hoping that such mysteries are proved one way or the other once and for all. I am not speaking only about the issue of women entering or being barred from sancutim sanctorums, but of a lot of other stuff being discussed on various fora these days.

Get into trouble? Why would we? :innocent: Nominating posts for FP is our janmasiddh adhikar. Birth right.
You compose an apology? That would be mighty strange given that one is actually due to you in my rarely humble opinion. I am not an arranger of apologies. So, the least I could do was nominate your words that some say are bombastic.

Hola from the complete stranger ! Had to support your nomination, I prove / disprove hypotheses for a living.
Asking for rational explanations/ evidence for supposedly validated phenomenon is not a crime the last time I checked. So please no apologies !
Considering how IL likes to play safe, I would be pleasantly surprised if your posts win , but I will cheer for you nevertheless .

Having been here for sometime,I won't be surprised if it does not win . :(
I usually do not even read the nomination thread but anything Rihanna nominates deserves a look and there I saw the nominated posts.
I wanted to post on the thread but Iravati's post said it all and made me calm again.:)
