@Amica Amics, a quick heads up! Some stores starting to have Black Friday deals. Saw Disney store ad.. they seem to have a phased out sale, first phase starting now.. now the tricky part is I am not able to see phases 2-4 deals. So it’s a mystery if the deals get better or not.. so one’s best guess , I believe.

Reading about the double-job holding busy software-dal'mandi-wallah's well-kept wife wanting EM-attention, and the questin "is EMA common?", naturally I though of The Viceroy of India. Because people often think "what are you ... something special? like The Viceroy of India ?".

And that led to the recent book by lady Pam Hicks.
upload_2017-11-14_10-15-45.png Here is the Amazon blurb about the book.
“Lady Pamela Hicks’s joyously entertaining new memoir, arguably the poshest book that ever has or will be written” (Newsweek), is a privileged glimpse into the lives and loves of some of the twentieth century’s leading figures.

Pamela Mountbatten entered a remarkable family when she was born in Madrid at the very end of the “Roaring Twenties.” Daughter of the glamorous heiress Edwina Ashley and Lord Louis Mountbatten, Pamela spent much of her early life with her sister, nannies, and servants—not to mention a menagerie of animals that included, at different times, a honey bear, chameleons, a bush baby, and a mongoose. Her parents’ vast social circle included royalty, film stars, celebrities, and politicians. Noel Coward invited Pamela to watch him film, and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. dropped in for tea.

However when war broke out Pamela and her sister were sent to New York to live with Mrs. Cornelius Vanderbilt, while the prime minister appointed her father to be the last Viceroy of India. Amid the turmoil, Pamela came of age, meeting the student leaders who had been released from jail, working in the canteen for Allied forces and in a clinic outside Delhi. She also developed a close bond with Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru.

“If you are addicted to Downton Abbey, chances are that you will relish Daughter of Empire, a British aristocrat’s memoir of her childhood and coming of age…She is also a keen observer of a way of life now vanished, except on PBS” (The Wall Street Journal). “Not many people remain who can tell stories like Lady Pamela Hicks” (Vanity Fair).

@Nonya good move. I was really thinking the OP wasn’t going to be happy with the digression. And I appreciate all the history, geography & illustrations that you come up with, but can’t say that for sure about OP. I like the Pam story.. oh oh oh just lost power  crazy windy out here :weary:

OP asked if EMA was common ? And I pointed out that it happens even in the lives of the rich and famous. To that extent, what was there in that thread was perfectly relevant.

One of the oft repeated lament (mostly from men) is "why or how a wife can want EM-attentions, when the husband is working so hard to "provide" ?". This questin often points to the range of situations, that can go from lack-of-understanding, all the way to lack-of-a-marriage.

The very popular long-ago Beetle's song "It's been a hard day's night..." had also tweaked up expectations....

Shouldn't Adai have a hole in the middle?
I had watched a video of vah-chef, who said there has to be a hole in the middle.
And by the way, the absence of a hole in the middle is what makes it harder to understand the poetry about donuts, and the ensuing discussion it spurred :tongueout:.

I thought this was OPs question: “Do you have some suggestions for me on how to approach this or should I just not care about it?”

But that notwithstanding, I agree they can happen to anyone. Another example is Prince Charles & Diana, both their EMAs
