    Hello all,
I plan to move to Chicago by Dec 1st week.I am currently in Bangalore. My work place would be South wacker drive ,Chicago. Can any of you let me know the best place to stay ,which would be nearer to the work place/easier to commute as I wont have any car.

Appreciate any help in this regard. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Are you married and have kids? If so, move to suburbs. If not, you can stay in downtown. If you have kids and looking for good school district and train, check areas like Naperville,Arlington heights.

U can't find Indian community in particular place in downtown. Most stay in suburbs. Newly married and bachelor stay in downtown and they stay in different places near to their workplace.

Presidential Towers has a good Indian population. You might also want to check out apartments in Oak park or Evanston which are a short ride to Chicago downtown. Rents are better there. Even better is Arlington heights for reasonable rent.

You can look up apartments on Apartments.com or Rent.com. Apartments in the city of Chicago tend to be costlier. You can also look at renting in Evanston/Oak Park which have slightly lower rents and excellent train facility to the city. Plenty of playschools such as YMCA, Cherry, Chiravalle are available in Evanston.
