    Hello ladies

Before delivery me nd dh planned to bf our child for atleast 2 years. My DD is 1.2 yrs old now. My milk supply is somewhat good. Suddenly my DD started biting my nipples, initially the pain was bearable, I have used all the techniques to stop her biting ( told 'NO', cried, even patted her cheek), nothing worked out.

But now the biting was very intense, daily am shedding atleast 3-4 drops of blood on each side. Now am confused whether to continue my bfing or else to wean her.

She is taking 3 times solid food. For the past 1week I am trying to schedule her feeding session. Morning 11-12, eve 4-6 and then night starts at 10 p.m after that it totally feed on demand. She may wants to feed 4-5 time during night time else 6-7 times, it totally depends on her need.

I really want to bf my DD, but don't want that biting pain. Is there any other way I can get rid of her biting ladies? Pls help me out.

    Btw I am SAHM.

OP, look like your DD loves you a lot :laughing::laughing:, seriously. She likes your reaction to her biting. I still remember the smile in my DD's face when she used to do it, it was not so severe like in your case. I felt that, she think that it is so funny and I am expressing love or affection. So I started controlling my emotions and pretended as if nothing happened. As soon as she starts biting, I insert my finger into her mouth. It will protect nipple and she can continue feeding with it. If she continue biting, I remove her from my nipple (forcefully sometimes :))by inserting finger into her mouth, stopped feeding and then keep her away as a punishment, that helped. See is there any pattern like, when she start to bite and be prepared. Is it at the beginning or end of session or for attention etc... If its at the end may be she is done with it and trying to play.

    If nothing works,try breast pump.

Yeah OP, you are absolutely correct. She loves my reaction. Whenever i shout in pain she will smile happily.so i started to control my emotions, for the first one week it went fine. Later the biting become hard, and started to shout in pain.

At the end of the feeding session she will bite. All of a sudden, she will bite hardly.sometimes I am able to guess it, but most of the time I am not able to catch her. If I remove my breast before the session end she will started crying.

I am going to use your technique, will insert my baby finger into her mouth. let's see.

Reg. Breastpump i have already tried to express the milk and feed through bottle and silver cup, she is not accepting it.

At 1 babies do get short term consequences. My dd2 had a biting phase. When she bites try to control your reactions and put her down immediately saying no biting. Do not restart breast feeding immediately. Let the feeding stop even if she cries or throws a tantrum.
Also be alert when she is feeding especially towards the end of a session. So that you can catch her in the act of planning instead of after it.

Thanks for your reply. She stopped biting now

Whenever the session us going to end I inserted my ginger into her mouth before she bites. She don't like this, and day by day she stopped biting.
