    @Gauri03 & @Rihana,

    There was a Rishi with a name "Naradha". In a friendly manner, He creates trouble even to God's family every now and then. But all his actions would eventually result in good results. I couldn't agree more @Gauri03 about your "Devil's advocate" comment and she is "Kaliyuga Naradha". Regarding "Thread-bumper", she wins it hands down without any questions asked. I posted this because I honestly believe this comment is about a positive Watson.

    Dear Cheeniya Sir,

    Regarding Soka, I just faced the brunt of underestimating his comment in a thread and I got a slap on my face. He is moving faster than Hurricane Irma in expressing his knowledge and a tube light like me takes forever to understand what he says.

    Regarding Universal Friend, the juries are the ILites as you are too close to me. :)

    Hmm, my turn now. Hey, I am handicapped with a non-cooperating smartphone. So, making it short. Catch-all Watson is @sokanasanah. His patience, andaaz, passion is incredible. He would guide in education forum, counsel in relationship forum, play pranks in general forums, reveal animal oddities in snippets, recommend sous-vide technique in cookery forums and so forth.

    On writing, I cannot think of anyone who would have spent time compiling that "dark and stormy night" guide which is hallmark of private reference for improving one's writing. That was a turning point. He is as such jovial and friendly but with that enterprise he exceeded my expectations of how a considerate gesture could uplift a community. One more - though sokanasanah and I lock horns at times in discussions, his horns are short and floppy, you cannot be upset or be gored by them. I try hard to be defiant at him but he someone wriggles himself out with a winsome grin. Some people nah, they don't let you be cross at them also.

    I have learnt so much through his innumerable references and amusing interactions in neurons and also discovered Borges and Bowlby on the side. He is indeed our beloved Watson because he not only checks if you have spelled words right, but also remarks if you got the tone right.

    Viswa you don't need a Sherlock to tell that watson could seriously hit bonds between parents and children. Reading to kids and telling them stories brings parents and children closer. But then parents often face embarrassing questions from kids. May be here they can take refuge behind such an app.

    @Iravati,

    Aham for everything you said and more..... His unassuming personality to reach out and help provide important data (ex:How to look up the details of drugs in India) is impeccable. Sometimes, I wonder whether he is for real or a robot trained to be nice. His students are the luckiest including us. :)

    Dear Balajee,

    You hit the nail right on the head. While reading stories part the parents can retain, they can outsource answering embarrassing questions from kids.

    Viswa, I did some pleasant Saturday morning reading up on connotations of Naradha and Devil's advocate. : ) I think Gauri's "devil's advocate" was a little yet significantly different than your "Naradha" Watson. She meant it in the sense of speaking for the less represented side in a skewed discussion, providing a balancing counterpoint, addressing skewed-ness that sometimes happens in online discussions. Naradha has a connotation of fomenting disputes among people, often via gossip, even if not with a malicious, vengeful or vested interest intent and ending in good result.

    If you like, you may resubmit your homework. :sunglasses:

    Yes, I meant it along the lines of the advocatus diaboli of the Catholic Church. Skepticism with the explicit purpose of illuminating alternative points of view and avoiding ideological echo-chambers. When speaking to like-minded people, it is easy to believe your own BS. You need someone who can challenge your assumptions and force you to look at things from a different perspective. One cannot have a well-reasoned position on any subject without considering, and logically accounting for, opposing viewpoints.

    @Rihana,

    Are you sure Naradha version of Watson is often via gossip, malicious and vengeful? In my view, his efforts are always direct, with good intentions and never vengeful. In fact, his efforts are always educational.
