Have you ever struggled to answer the questions of your children? As every new generation is born, they are adroit in not only in their learning ability but also astute to ask a question to the parents and enjoy their struggle to answer. Sometimes, parents wonder what the children learn in the school from their teachers and peers and what they eat for lunch in the school. If the children are raised in a foreign country, the parents stunningly watch the children’s accent change very quickly. If both parents work, it makes the parents introduce another environment in the form of child care. The children adapt very quickly to the changing environment than the grown-up adults.

As though these complications are not enough, the technology companies are introducing new products that eliminate the need for the children to read books or search in the internet by answering the questions asked in the natural languages. Yes. I am talking about IBM Watson. The parents who experienced reading a book to their children would never give up that golden opportunity and Watson will have hard time resisting that temptation of the parents. But at the same time, if Watson was going to answer a difficult question that the parents find hard to answer or if it was going to reduce the internet time allotted for the children, they would gladly accept adaption of this technology.

Thank God Watson is built like a talking Wikipedia for home use and analytical engineer for industries. Most of us have seen the advertisement of an adult daughter introducing Watson as an expert in farming and a father asking Watson to spell a word and meaning for his daughter while entering the house. If the home version is built to tell stories to the children, where to find food when they are hungry, teach how to have shower and change into casual wears, train them to tuck into their own bed, etc. there will be a revolution worldwide from young mothers. The last thing women like is someone/something replacing them as spouse or mother.

As if the new generation of children are not challenging enough, now cognitive computing is making a paradigm shift in the way the humans will conduct life in future. When Information and Communication Technology was at the infant stage, we embraced them with open arms as we believed it would improve the quality of life. Even though the researchers claim that cognitive computing is at its infant stage now and these new developments are welcomed by the users, we can never predict how it would change the normal life at work and home in future. Until this decade, only Watson I knew is the Australian cricketer.

I would like to categorically declare the right to smell roses and the first rain, feel the gentle breeze/hug of a baby, hear a child talk, rain, waterfall and waves, see the beautiful greeneries, mountain range, breathtaking nature and change of seasons and taste the delicacies of the different parts of the world still belong to the human-beings and no one and no technology can take away this right.

This snippet can’t be finished without the challenging question for the ILites. The challenge is to find out who I have in mind when I am referring to Watsons in IL:

    1) Classical Language Poems

    2) Description of nature

    3) English Grammar

    4) Farming

    5) Information & Analytical Gallery

    6) Jewelry

    7) Neural Network

    8) Political Satire

    9) Recipes

    10) Relationships

    11) Space

    12) Time Management

    13) Tourism

    14) Vocabulary

    15) Writing

Please feel free to introduce new subjects to the above list. I look forward to the answers.

Please feel free to share the names of ILites as appreciation of their contributions. There could be more than one ILite in each category. There could be more categories too. The purpose is to welcome more and more contributions from the members.

Technology won't take away your right to the rain and the roses, at least not anytime soon. Climate change is a much more imperative threat on that front. Technology just might save us all, from climate change and from our own destructive tendencies!

Here's a category for you: spiritual seeker, puzzle maker and social commentator! : )

    @Gauri03,

I couldn't agree more about technology helping climate change study. 40 years ago, my mother country asked for a super computer for weather forecasting which was rejected by my adopted country resulting in the scientists designing and developing high-performance MIMD machines indigenously. I was directly involved in that R & D organization. If enjoying nature is taken over by machines, the human race will cease to exist. Let us include the category you suggested and wait for names from ILites. :) I have just responded to someone who fits under category 7 in my list.

P.S.:I wrote this snippet right after making my puzzle. :)

You definitely deserve Watson for Doodle and Word Puzzle. The third category should be "Editor-in-Chief".
