Stomach Cramps

    Hi,

    I m 11 weeks pregnant, I m suffering from stomach cramps time to time. I m tensed about it.Need suggestions.

    Hi,
    Cramping during first trimester is common as the baby grows inside and this causes the uterus to grow big in size. This gives strain and stretching pain to the surrounding muscles and ligaments. Make sure that you drink lots of water to avoid urinary tract infections. Avoid intercourse if at all you engage in it. If you have spotting with cramps ,consult your gynaec as soon as possible. Make sure you have blood pressure in normal limits. Include asafoetida in your diet. Take mahadhanwantharm pills in the dose of 1 / 2 pills per day with jeera water.

    Cramps can also occur due to gas, constipation or any indigestion problems. Make sure that you eat proper and nutritious foods. Avoid tubers like potato, tapioca, fruits like jackfruit, pineapple, citrus fruits and pulses. Take fiber rich diet and drink water properly. Avoid junk foods and foods containing maida, spicy, hot and pungent. You can also try keeping hot water bag on the specific area. Slight application of herbal oils without applying pressure is even good.

    It is normal , I too have it it reduces with weeks .doctor adviced me that it is normal as far as not very painful

    @DrVandhana Thanks for the reply.I have started taking mahadhanwantharm pills and it seems to be effective.

    I am also suffering from back and leg pain.Sometimes pain in abdomen too.I am not able to be active.In the previous message you have mentioned about applying herbal oil.It would be very useful if you mention the herbal oil.

    Besides the above advise, it is suggested to explore some simple yoga pastures which said to relieve and prevent cramps especially during pregnancy. Do consult Yoga expert before attempting on your own. somewhere it is reported standing and facing close to wall, stretching toes intermittently of each leg and simultaneously tensing calf muscle a bit up gives a semblance of relief.     Hi,
    Nice to know that you have started taking the mahadhanwantharam pills. You can continue this daily till the end of pregnancy. Ayurvedic oils like dhanwantharma tailam and pinda tailam, karpooradi etc can be used for massage. Be careful not to apply much pressure. Gentle application and warm water bath is good.

    Do we get that in USA. Iam suffering from back pain and leg pains too if I do some work like bending to clean the floor etc. I am in 16th week. Thanks for ur reply

    I have inquired about dhanwantharma tailam and pinda tailam, karpooradi. Can you suggest me which brand is good.And also please tell me is massaging safe during pregnancy and can we do it ourselves.I have heard from my friends that only trained therapists can do.

    There are many manufacturing these oils these days.They are all good .To name a few will be kottakal,vaidyaratnam etc.But we basically prescribe Soothika Essential kit as Essential oils for pregnancy. It contains dhanwanthram and murivenna.Also soothika has trained theraists in India who can avail services for mother and baby at home.You can visit their website for more details.
