With my bird-brain, a limited vocabulary of lower than 100 words, diminishing memory even to recollect the fewer words and the last but not least the low educational qualification in Tamil medium, I feel it is time for me to hit the sack after completing eight decades in life.

I am awe struck when I read snippets and blogs of the highly literate persons like Mr Cheeniya, Madam Iravati, Mr Ojaantrik, Mr Viswamitra, Jayasala42, Sagitta, Swathi and many other youngsters who are very knowledgeable. I feel like a babe in the woods, rather I would say a mole before the mountains.

Even for writing a feedback I struggle a lot. A music critic should have the knowledge in music to evaluate a musician's performance. Likewise a person should have literary knowledge to understand and interpret an article. Sometimes articles written by highly literate people seems Greek to me as I studied in Tamil medium and that too upto school final.

At the fag end of life I feel it is unlikely for me to become an intellect. But I will peep in IL and read articles that attract my attention and try my level best to give my feedback.

    Dear PS
I too studied in Tamil medium till my 11th Standard. My mother who lived up to 95 would first read The Hindu and then the local Tamil daily. She had studied only up to 6th standard (Tamil medium) as she got married at the age of 11! I really do not know what makes you feel low all of a sudden. We are not writing here with the Booker Prize in mind. We only share our life's experience and people like you who have enough of it should be our guiding spirit. I feel sad that you feel this way all of a sudden.

    Dear Mr Cheeniya,
Really I don't know how to express my feelings after reading your reply. I really feel humbled to read your fb.
Of course I did had my hay day at IL. From the time I joined IL, I got support and encouragement from our members. Now due to my failing memory I struggle to type words. Even common and familiar words evade me. Yet I do try to keep my memory sharpened By reading newspaper and books though I have to see my digital clock to make sure of the day and date.
I'll keep trying to post if I find anything significant which will be useful to others.
    With regards,
    PS

    dear Mr Cheeniya,

    Dear PS Ma'm,

I don't know what you are talking about. Even as a youngster, I have hardly paid attention to my language. I come to IL only because of good souls like yourself. I truly mean it. I write because sometimes there is this urge to express. It is a bonus if others respond. It is with amazement I watch all of you elderly keeping your intellect sharp but what I like most is the life experiences you share - things look different from your perspective. Please do keep them coming. You know I have already written about my photography teacher - he is 84. There is so much to learn from all of you!

I will not be lying or writing to please you but I do read everything you write with a smile on my face and try to respond as much as I can. If I don't it is mostly because of lack of time, unless it is a lazy summer like the one right now ;-)

Ha..ha..ha... that is a good one. You know how to hit where it should hurt!

One older fellow, who didn't study in English medium school, put out (not in greek, but latin):"cogito ergo sum" -- in this day, this would be "I post on IL forum, and therefore I am significant".
If people started using "significant" and "useful to others" as filters to what they want to post, this forum would peter out.
Come out and tell us who else is writing in greek.

Dear Mami, I am really taken aback. Why do you feel like this. Everyone here loves to read your simple posts coming straight from the heart. There is no substitute for experience and wisdom and that is something you have loads of. Please don't stop writing. We all write whatever we feel like. At least I do. It might make sense, or it might not. It might be something extremely trivial, but it is just the fun of writing and interacting with others here that pushes me to do so.

Hoping you will change your mind and keep writing here as before.

    Dear Sabitha,
I feel overwhelmingly grateful to my dear friends of IL after reading the fbs and feel blessed to receive the love and respect you all shower upon me.

I agree language is only to express our thoughts and if people understand the gist of our writeup, it doesn't matter if there are any grammatical mistakes or spelling mistakes due to overseeing.

Regarding feedbacks, I don't mind and keep cribbing if I don't receive any fbs.
In their busy life people sometimes don't have time to write fbs then and there and later they might forget also. That's why we have been offered the like key in all the social sites to hit instantly to show our appreciation. Having said this without hitting the like, I start typing the fb.

Thanks a lot and I will try my best to keep writing posts,

    Love,
    PS
