Good one ! This shows that the inability to say NO is a universal trait , not restricted to Indians ! What say @Umanga ;)

    If OP is in LA

I'm not asking for a favour, she herself offered to get something.
I feel offended because, she could have told me the address and asked bro pick outside, what she texted me is a high road.
You should understand what goes thru my bro mind?
But she wants me to service of cab and etc.
Mind she never asked me about staying in house. She directly told I'm coming to your place for stay.

Op, u r too soft hearted , I am happy for that. But learn to say NO.
Just like ur friend says NO for some reason(we don't know the reason), u also learn to say NO when u r not comfortable. It is my opinion . I too have problems in saying NO but I am learning. U too learn , that's all .

Thanks gonegirl , you got my point correctly, if she had done to me it's lot fine infact I would be happy.
But she did to my bro. I have to learn to say NO when it's not comfortable.im a over thinker!
Have to stop thinking too much.
I'm learning in a hard way.

Nope I told my DH this is my first and last time. As I don't have many friends who visit on business trips. Nor I'm going to invite anyone who cross limits.

These days its too risky to be nice and courteous. People are really taking advantage. I know sounding too negative, but ya... And at the end we get to hear and feel, "too foolish to help". Just help them with nearby hotel details, and say that you are not at home that weekend. And do not sacrifice work time unless there is really a need to do so. If at all you really had to do so, make them stay or wait at the airport untill your work is finished. say a 3-4 hr. then they will know, what is the effort. Unless its a student coming for the first time or very old person first time visiting, i dont think anyone else requires this elaborate service. They have managed to come this far, they can manage the rest of the trip.

@Vedhavalli, you're not alone. We all learn the hard way. Some of us still haven't learned — I mess up at least half the time . But we're trying and we'll wise up, right?

We pickup/drop things from friends at the car park for reasons like,
    A. One of us is way too casually dressed and cant bother to change not knowing when the guest is due

    B. One of us is sleeping, we dont disturb the sleeping person as a rule..
    C. I have applied something to my face/hair, imagine getting a waxing/facial and a guest you need to say hi..

So, Vedhavalli might get any reason for the friends' behaviour.. Life is too short for all this and like Peartree said we give too much importance to etiquettes.. On the other hand, anyone visiting(xcept family)will get a day, maximum in my home..
