    Dear Satchi,
    Half litter milk costs 19 Rs. Further you miss the early morning cuppa and have to run to the shop to buy milk.

    My dear Anna

    I also dont know whether I am good or bad. I try to be good with everyone. I also agree with Syamala we are combination of good and bad. We dont know what bad we have in us unless someone points it out. Like Satchi says I also do somethings without my husband's knowledge. I know it is wrong but sometimes I need it. I cant be simple like him. Some people stand in front of God and pray for longtime. I dont know what they pray. I just pray give me good budhi. Nalla buddi tharongo, ungalaianri veru thunai illai. When sad I will call Appa, Anadha rakshaga, Akilakanda kodi brahmandanayaka (Just now I am not abl eto remember) only that time all God's names comes. It is difficult for me to get into a crowded train , or get down from a outstation train, that time I recite

    A SADHYA SADHAKA SWAMIN
    ASADHYAM TAWA KIM VADA
    RAMA DOOTA KRUPAA SINDHO
    MAT KARYAM SADHAYA PRABHO

    good to me is bad to others and bad to me is good to others - perspectives play the contradictions, hence never i take them into my jurisdiction, am the judge until being disposed/dismissed, peace is assured...

    nice one C.

    @Srama
    My dear Srama
    Why do you think that it is a 'pertinent question'? He talks as if the equation is only between God and Human Being! There are billions of living beings in our planet itself. We can't even imagine how many more would be there in the Universe as a whole. In Puranas, we come across even animals worshiping God and they never gave God their form. The best example is Hanuman. He never gave Rama a monkey shape! I must mention here about the wit of Justice ASP Iyer of Madras High Court. I have attended a few functions which were chaired by Justice ASP Iyer. In one meeting of school children, a student asked him if God had a tuft or a well-cropped hair. Justice Iyer replied that God had a tuft till about a hundred years back but now He had a cropped hair! What he implied was quite obvious.
    You keep forgetting that you are speaking to an international audience. Chennai is in the midst of Agni Star and the temperature keeps going over 40 degrees. Worse still is the Middle East! Can I ever tell you, 'Nice talking to you, Srama. Now let me go and sweat it out in the hot sun!'? I often tune to Nature TV channels to see how life is like in places away from Chennai and I find my 40 degree heat very soothing! Keep us in mind when you go out with your expensive camera to shoot your just blooming plants.

    What can I say except that I hold you in high esteem? I am an ordinary man with the normal failings of an ordinary human being. It is a pity that Gyana sets in late in life when the body starts crying for mercy. Fortunate are those who do not have to make amends for their past mistakes!

    @satchitananda
    When I was working in the Tuticorin branch of State Bank in the late '60s, I lived in the first floor of a house facing the Police Station. Every day, some pathetic looking guy would be brought in and bashed up for some petty crime he committed. The Inspector told me that all this bashing up would be of no use as he would land back in the station with another charge in a couple of days!
    What you say is very true about the mighty criminals who run a parallel police force!

    @shyamala1234
    I am amused by your classification of sins. I remember the saying that there is nothing good or bad but only our thinking makes it so. People say that nothing is a sin as long as it can be justified. A judge sentencing a man to death in a murder case is not considered a sinner but a person who kills another person to avenge the death of someone close to him is a sinner. The whole thing becomes a chain killing including the legally sanctioned one.
    Don't forget that 'sarvejana' includes you too. In that sense, even this prayer is not selfless. But what is wrong in praying God for your welfare as long as you don't ask Him to destroy someone for your benefit?
    My brother's wife suffered from blood cancer and in a very advanced stage, my brother took her to Kanchi Paramacharya. My brother informed the Mahaswami how much she was suffering. The Mahaswami smiled and blessed her saying that her sufferings would end soon. My sister-in-law died a month after that meeting at the age of 36. My brother understood the inner meaning of the Swami's blessing while her parents were critical of the Swami. Everything is finally in our perception.

    Dear Mr Cheeniya,
    All members of IL has great esteem for you. You are not an ordinary man. You have lot of experience, great wit and wisdom along with humility.
    During my childhood at night time my elder sister used read A few chapters of Ramayana. Since then I have become a staunch devotee of Lord Rama and He had become my Ishta Deivam. Even when I am in pain I only chant His name.
    I wonder if there is any ordinary person iin this world without committing any mistakes and I am not an exception. Knowingly and unknowingly we all commit mistakes and later feel sad.
