Lunch Ideas - Creating Balanced Vegetarian Meals

    Neetu, you'd have to carry me back on a stretcher. My poor feet wouldn't be able to carry all that weight!

    An old follower of this wonderful thread. But got too busy with work and then had a baby (who is going to be one soon). So guess it must be at least a year and a half since logged onto this thread. But trust me, I never found as much useful information as I find here from Shanvy - anywhere in magazines or the internet. Anyway, I hope to post my lunches here. I have lost almost all the weight I gained post-pregnancy but I was at least 10 Kgs overweight to start with. So a way to go... Am also breastfeeding baby. If you find anything in my lunch plate that could affect do feel free to comment. So my first plate:
    2 Multigrain Chapatis with methi sabzi and cabbage sabzi and curd.

    When I went to my second Chapati I took a second helping of cabbage. Hope that is okay. The dal khichdi on the side is baby's.

    Munched on salads before lunch and kept a cup of dal for later, as I will be going to the gym @3.

    @Writera congratulations mommy. Welcome back. I know many of the oldies are lurkers but feels good when people come back and say a hi. And thank you for saying such sweet things about this thread.

    Eat healthy and eat right. That is nice balanced plate. But see if baby feels gassy because of that cabbage. Cabbage is gas producing than potatoes though we think the reverse.

    Methi sabji is good for bf and otherwise too.

    I eat calculatively :biggrin::p loads of salad. A little starters.a roti with loads of sabji and then sweet a very little depending. Ice cream if i like the brand

    (I dont have a sweet tooth and i don't like icecreams with lingering vegetable oil)

    And chats i do love..

    Todays had organic handpounded red rice and had to chew for long, was thinking how we are accustomed to eating the polished variety that bran intact rice is more acquired taste.

    Vathakuzhambu ( small onions and lady's finger ) and plaintain pith mor kootu with curds and papad.
