    @Rachna ,
    My doctor did blood test in Jan month n suggested me to take vitamin d3 tablet. I am taking vitamin d3,iron tablet along with pre natal. Me too, in my first pregnancy I was very active. I used to walk 1 hr in Mrg and 1 hr in eve. I used to sweep n mop floor every other day during my 8 th month. This pregnancy I couldn't walk out properly. Doing normal household chores make me exhausted. Feeling tired. Getting frustrated to see messy house. My doctor suggest to take calcium n magnesium tablet when I feel leg cramp. I took once or twice ,when I was in india. Not now. Getting sleep in nite,is big problem now. I sleep only in day time,after sending husband n elder one.

    mums, just one silly question- i hav seen examples where mum had GD in pregnancy and then they had chubby cute babies. I dont hav GD and baby weight is low (as per scan). So just wanted to ask what is the problem having GD during pregnancy unless it is too high? Everyone wants baby with good weight and a lady with GD will definitely have chubby good weight baby

    I feel all babies, skinny/low-weight/normal weight/chubby/obese are cute.. :)..

    I think in my opinion, chubby baby is more determined to be due to genetics..if mom-dad were chubby at birth, its more likely the baby will be so..however, that was not the case with us, both me and DH were very chubby, but our toddler was born average weight (not chubby but normal weight), I did not have GD, and this time also I am not having GD even though I am overweight..we can also see so many chubby babies of construction workers who are so skinny and sometimes malnourished...

    A lot goes into baby's weight apart from genetics, even if you eat fatty and sweet food, your baby may not receive the nutrition because of how the placenta is placed, sometimes due to reasons unknown, placenta does not provide all the nutrition to the baby....if mom's age is high, placenta is affected..I am having both my kids in my 30s..

    GD babies may look chubby and to some people more cute..but we need to be aware of imp thing that GD is not good for health in the long term for babies..they are more likely to develop diabetes because they will have vulnerability /genetic predisposition to diabetes, so if they are careless with their diet and exercise, they may easily develop diabetes in life..

    When a baby is born, he/she has a set of fat cells given by the mother.....during the growth until 10-11 years, the NUMBER of fat cells get fixed...so at age 11-12, a child who eats fatty and sweet food develops a signature that if he overeats, he is bound to get fat because his fat cells are more....and it will be tough for the child to lose weight provided he puts in effort both at diet and exercise.....but lets assume the child does not overeat during his first 10 years of life and also his mother did not get GD during pregnancy, then the NUMBER of fat cells are lesser than the previous example, no matter how much overeating he does, since he does not have fat cells, he will not gain as much weight as the previous child, and also he will lose weight easily.....
    I remember this from my bio class in school or Masters...

    this made sense retrospectively because, in my last ped appt, my doc (indian) told me not to make my child overeat, if he is full, he really is full....I have seen so many mothers force feed their toddlers/4-5 years babies....all those kids/now adults are overweight....

    so please dont assume chubbiness only as cuteness, all babies are cute....chubby or otherwise...give good healthy nutrition to baby, full of milk, fruits, good fats, carbs, vegetables...so that they have good immune system to fight diseases and lead a healthy life...what's the point of chubbiness if the baby is actually having weak immune system....
