I made this last night. I am unable to post the recipe as a link using my cell phone; so copying the whole recipe. Here is the picture:
Cabbage - Channa dhal (kadalai paruppu) kootu Ingredients: Channa Dhal -1/2 cup Cabbage - roughly chopped - 1 cup Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp Asafoetida '-1 tsp Salt - to taste Grind to a paste: Grated coconut -1/4 cup Green chillies- 2-3 Fresh Ginger - chopped -2 tsp Cumin seeds - 1.5 tsp Curry leaves- a sprig For Tempering: Oil - 3 tsp or 1 tablespoon Mustard seeds - 1 tsp Cumin seeds - 1 tsp Curry leaves - few Dry red chillies - 2 ----------------- Method: 1.Place channa dhal with sufficient water in the Inner pot, knob in "sealing" mode, press "Manual", press the (-)/(+) button for three (3) minutes. After 3 mins the dhal is partially cooked. 2. To this dhal add the cut cabbage, the ground paste, turmeric powder, asafoetida, and salt. A quick stir to mix well. 3. Close lid, knob to "sealing" position, manual mode, three (3) minutes. 4. Meanwhile prepare the tempering by heating oil, adding the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and broken red chillies. 5. When pressure is released, add the tempering to the kootu. Serve with rice or rotis. Here is the picture:
