Episode 26:

Jaanu kept that gift aside and took her phone and dialed Chaaru’s guy Mano's number to know the status. But again she couldn’t reach him over phone. She knows his house but Chaaru was saying that he has shifted his house and Jaanu was not aware of the new address.

“Where he has been?!!! These many days! No news from him…He was very curious during the initial days….But where did he go now….”

Meanwhile the other girls went to their seats to continue their work.

There was no clue. She kept her phone on her desk and took her notepad. She opened a fresh page and started listing.

4. The one who follows me

5. and......

Chaaru took a long breath. She did not know whether she can write that name on this list or not....

She took her pen near the 5th point and stopped again.

Anything is possible she thought and added the 5th name in the list. She closed her eyes and read it one more time.

5. Chaaru's brother.

Her inner voice said that one among the 5 is the kidnapper. Let me first dig the complete information about these people. Let the policemen do their duty. On my behalf even let me give a try. Jaanu thought.

After her office hours, Jaanu once again tried meeting Chaaru’s parents.

This time the house was open. Jaanu parked her two wheeler outside and pressed the calling bell.

Chaaru’s mom appeared. Her face was quite dull.

“Come dear…” she said in a low voice

“How are you aunty….Any news about Chaaru?” - she asked as she walked in.

The house was too quiet. There was no noise except Jaanu’s foot steps.

“No concrete information dear…” her mom sat on the sofa sadly

“By the way aunty….Chaaru called me. Before I asked her where she was, the line was cut…..” - Jaanu

“Even we got a call dear… She said someone kidnapped her and she has been kept in some village in Andhra Pradesh.”

“What?!!! She spoke with you?” – Jaanu’s got anxious.

“Yeah dear. So we have informed the police. They are searching there” – Jaanu’s mom replied as she brought her water to drink.

“Thanks aunty” – Jaanu had the water

“Oh….they couldn’t find anything?” – Jaanu continued

“Aunty can you people manage alone? If you want I can accompany you to the police station…” – Jaanu

Jaanu couldn't see Chaaru's mom 's face. It was very dull and her red eyes said that she has cried for hours for her beloved daughter. Their's was a cute family. Since Chaaru was the only daughter they never denied what she asked for. Whenever Chaaru took Jaanu to home, she was treated like a family member.

“No need dear. The officer is our relative. That’s why we have kept it under cover. Else everyone would have known through the newspapers and TV channels” – Chaaru’s mom wiped her tears.

“we are giving birth to a girl….bringing her up….giving her the best in everything…..we are sacrificing everything for her….but finally what is happening in this world….heartless people” Chaaru’s mom started crying heavily and her eyes were becoming more red.

Jaanu felt very bad to see her crying like that.

“Aunty….don’t lose hope aunty….we will get back her safely” – Jaanu wiped her tears.

“One more thing aunty. I have received a birthday gift. Not sure whom. No relevant address or phone number…written as my best friend…Chaaru was my only best friend….Dont know who has sent that….Even that was from Andhra Pradesh.” - Jaanu

“Oh my God…..Is it….Everything seems to be mysterious dear. Am not in a state to analyse everything dear. I wish I die this moment. Dont know where is my girl…don’t know how all she is suffering…..There is no God in this world…She use to help everyone…..But now…..no one is there to help her……” Chaaru’s mom started yelling in pain and Jaanu consoled her and came out….

As she wore her sandals, “Take care aunty. Chaaru will come back soon” she said.

Losing all her hope, Chaaru’s mother was standing still as she replied “hmmmm”

"Shall I reveal my doubts on Chaaru's brother?"

"No...she might get hurted deeply. She is already in a pathetic condition."

"Let me deal that myself"

Jaanu thought and kicked her scooter and started driving home. After few minutes of driving the area was dark and lonely.

Jaanu was driving cautiously and she could see two two wheelers driving on both her sides and she in the middle.

Her heart was beating heavily.

Jaanu was was trying to drive fast and the two wheelers drove parallel to her. She tried her best to reach the main road somehow and still they followed her.

She saw the signal and it was red. She drove slowly and stopped her vehicle behind a car. And again the two wheelers stopped beside her and she was in the middle again.

“why are these people following me….”

“Who are they….”

"But am sure they are linked with Chaaru's kidnap"

"May be I will shout now and seek people's attention? so that I will be saved from these people? I will complain to everyone?

"But what if they pretend to be strangers and I become the one who has created a scene in public unnecessarily? "

"They might say we dont even know this girl and we are casually waiting for the signal?"

"There is neither a proof that these people are following me nor that these people are going to harm me."

"How to save myself without creating a scene on the road?"

"Soon the main roads will be done and I need to travel in small streets"

"Before that I need to save myself. Few more minutes left"

Jaanu had millions of thoughts…..

Before she thought of next question, the signal turned to green and the vehicles before her started moving slowly and both that helmet heads beside her were staring at her and Jaanu was struck in the middle.

Brushing aside her fear, Jaanu made a plan.
