The thing is, its already way too small kitchen, on top of it, i have my mixer, grinder, vitamin, rice cooker and now this IP also.... adding to this, i have kept my plates and oil box. No space in the dinning area also as I have moved the TV to the dinning room. Its crowded. Its crowded everywhere.
It can, But IP will be too technical for DH and his " skill set" will not be enough to operate the IP.
Yeah, same here. Out of sight, out of mind in my case too. I have a long story - My over-the-hood microwave oven was taken down to accommodate a new hood. So had an old huge MV on the counter top occupying a lot of space. I also had a Slow cooker on the counter top. Last Sunday we bought a small organizer/table from Costco to extended the counter. Put my MV on the table and I placed my Slow cooker inside the cabinet. Want to check how often I use the slow cooker before giving it away. In the Crock Pot/MV space I now have my induction stove. The IP is where my induction stove was. Phew! Your head spinning? sorry. You should have seen me last Sunday - moving things round and round the kitchen counters to get that "just right" feeling.
Haha! I too use rice cooker for rice alone. My rice cooker is small, don't want to use the IP for just one cup of rice.
Here is the table/drawer organizer we got from Costco and the MW on top. The IP is next to my stove to allow the sauteing steam and smell to be be pulled by the hood exhaust. My rice cooker is the small white appliance.
This is where my MW and Crockpot used to be. Now housing my induction stove, knives, and the tiny mortar and pestle.
Thanks for starting this thread Kamla mam. I am a IP user for the past 11months and totally love it. I make rice, dal, sambar, curries like tindora, cabbage, beans, beetroot, pongal, upma, pulov, chole, rajma, pasta, sweets like kesari, kheer, basundi, carrot halwa, regular chai and all in no time. This is best appliance in my kitchen. Will share some of the no time recipes and will learn some new recipes from this thread
Recently made Semiya kesari which was a huge hit: 2 cup semiya 1.5 sugar cashews, raisins cardomom powder 2.5 cups water food color Switch on the instant pot in saute mode, add 2 tb spoon ghee and roast cashews, raisins. Then add Semiya and roast till it turns into golden brown (if you are using roasted semiya you can skip this step) Then add water and bring to rolling boil, add a pinch of food color Then add Sugar and close the lid. Hit the Manual for 3 mins and do QR after 5mins. Yummy Semiya Kesari will be ready. Thanks Sravani
