Ohh you read the original comment? :)

IL was loading slow n I saw only the last part followed by comments. So assumed its just one part story, you cannot blame me either because that last part seemed self sufficient, conveying the gist of the entire write up in one go! There is enough depth in there, that I didn't need other parts to fill the vaccum. There wasnt any at all! Then after finally IL loaded the whole page, I realised there r 8 parts before this one, the one I thought was the only part! Lol! Satchi, yet to read them all, will come bk later. Sure, trust me! ;) :p (j/k)

Good story, true story of India be it old or modern. There is one side of India where women r reaching moon and one side killing female fetus. Good narration, good work.

Hi Parineetha, thanks so much. Yes, the story was based on two sisters whom I met in London when I was living in a hostel. They had been adopted by an European couple.

Talking of the dilemma, true, given the reason why she was abandoned, she has probably every right to feel wronged.

Recently I was watching a video about a woman of Vietnamese who was taken to Australia by a couple during the war and she has grown up Australian and is as Australian as they come. However, she too wanted to trace her roots and her birth mother and find out why she was given up for adoption. She was not able to find her own mother because of lack of records, but she met another Vietnamese lady who had also been adopted by Australians and who had found her birth mother. She asked this other lady's mother why she had given up her child for adoption. Of course the reasons were the war, poverty, hope for a safe and secure future for the child, dreams of a good education, job and life for her. Hearing this the lady broke down completely and had a kind of closure. She now flies between Australia and Vietnam as she does feel tied to her roots in some manner.

True Rampuri. Anita was probably lucky that she was at least sent off to live with a loving family unlike many who end up being killed or live a life filled with rejection till the day they get married only to end up in another not-so-loving situation.
