    Hi,

We have a 9 months old male labrador and we are raising him like our kid. We have always been facing issues in renting out apartments/houses because most of the places are not pet friendly. Just starting this thread to know your views on the same. We are staying in such a busy and costly city and not everyone can afford to buy/rent an inidividual house. That doesnt mean that people staying in apartments should not own a pet.

Has anyone of you faced difficulty in renting a place because of having a pet? How did you people handle that?

    Hi Uma,

Sorry to hear about the problems pet owners like you face. Why not try to get a portion of an individual house for rent ...like the ground floor or first floor .Preferably first floor with access to terrace area .So your Pet can run around there without going down and disturbing the owners or other folks living down stairs .

Why don't you place an AD stating you have a dog and need a place for rent .?

Please do post pics of your dear Lab in the thread "Join the Club ....Membership Free" .This is the Pet Lovers Forum and we'd be happy to get to know your pet doggie !
    All the best...

    Dear Uma,

I also have 2 dogs. We too have faced the same problem everytime we have to change houses.

I dont know why people are like that. Leave alone apartments even individual houses are difficult to get.

But compared to chennai, Bangalore is more pet friendly but still not easy to get a house when you have pets.

    Regards
    Uma

We have a dog friendly holiday let in Kissimmee Rentals and we don't charge for dogs and don't have a limit on numbers of dogs either. The only thing we ask for is that dog owners will use the throws provided if they want to let the dogs onto the leather sofa's and armchairs, but that's more due to potential scratching of them than dirt.As a dog owner myself, I wouldn't feel comfortable charging extra for dogs.
