Hi I live in Mansfield. I would really like to get to know some Indians. We moved from London 6 years back. Email me your contact number.
HI Esther: Welcome to Indusladies. As you see there are a few Indusladies in Nottingham, so it is a matter of time that you get in touch with them. In the meanwhile, do look at other forums and I am sure you will find topics of your interest. Enjoy Indusladies. Sindhu
Esther/B4U, I think the best way is for both of you to participate in the forum making quality posts and become Junior members (50+ posts). And then both of you should have private message access to exchange emails. Sindhu
Hi friends! Me, my husband and my 3 yr old daughter are moving to Sandiacre, near Nottingham in two weeks. We are basically from Chennai. But we are living in london from past 2.5 years and my daughter has got the nursery seat here.. I m worried whether she wd get a seat there as this the school opening time. Also people here are telling me that Nottingham is not safe place for Indians to live as we are minority there. Also we dont get SouthIndian goods at all. I m really scared now. I know people are living in Nottingham. But we are not moving to the city and it seems like a village area. Pls help me. Cheers Vidhya
Hi vidhyavidh Sorry about late reply. I live very near to where you have (perhaps already) moved to. Nottingham has been associated with crimes for years but I have to say it is a very sterotypical view. I have been here for 5 years and have enjoyed living here. Just like any other place you would have to be careful not to live close to main roads, pubs, chip shops etc and you'll be alright. And plus you are in the suburbs 'shire' About Indian shops see previous posts. You wont find South Indian shops but there are a few asian shops which stock most ingredients. I normally shop at Hyson Green for Indians goods. (One of them is now stocking frozen idlis and dosas!!:crazy) Good luck with school admissions, moving n all:thumbsup
Hello everybody... I am Lakshmi from hyderabad. My sister is travelling to UK for higher studies (MBA). She is in a dilemma regarding the selection of the universities. She finally ended up in 2 options. 1. UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL 2. NOTTINGHAM TRENT UNIVERSITY. Both of them seem to be good enough for the course she opted for. But, she is interested in knowing about the way of living in Nottingham and also LIVERPOOL and how different is it? Is Nottingham preferred as it is near to LONDON considering the future job opportunities. The following are the constraints that are of preference 1. Cost of living in Nottingham compared to Liveropool 2. How safe is Nottingham for ladies comapred to Liverpool 3. Job opportunities 4. More indians in which place ? Notts or liverpool? Could anyone in this forum help us in this regard as we donot have any contact in these places. We would be greatful if the reply is quick as we have to decide on which one to join. Thanks in advance!! Lakshmi
