Iam sure many of you must have now seen the video of Deepika Padukone trending now..It is 'My Choice' where she lists her choices in life along with many other women who look already empowered or privileged. I really did not like anything about the video. Didnt feel it was empowering or atleast motivating. It was more a rude tone, bashing the male community.. Ladies do we really want to be treated equals or superior by making the other gender appear villaneous?? And she speaks about Sex before marriage & Sex outside marriage being her choice..Really???Then isnt that men's choice too? I feel she should have concentrated on the real issues than talking only about such unnecessary stories that make life complicated for anyone..Be it a man or a woman.. Overall the video doesnt feel like encouraging women to go further. If everything is only the individual's choice, how will the world sustain?? Making men encourage women should not be by being rude or bashing them, but must be by making them understand we are humans who ought to be treated right..Men dont have to give us special privileges, only by giving us basic human space and freedom will do.. I may not be fully right in my opinions and may also invite counter views, BUT WANT TO KNOW YOUR VIEWS...
Bakvaas! this video. She only talks about sex in the whole video nothing else. Thats the reason there is more sexual harassment towards women. What if men say the same thing. Sex outside office or inside office? My choice.Forced sex or without consent sex? My choice. How stupid. ? These such videos encourage men to think women only as sex object!:bang
Just saw the video after reading your thread.. Nice choreography but thats it. Its nonsense.. With choices come responsibilities as well.. Extramarital affairs affect men as much as women and its just not fair to say 'MY CHOICE' regarding such things.. Men also can say EMA, rape, drunk driving, domestic abuse... My choice! Nonsense..
I felt bad seeing that video in my office.. showcasing her bra strip and pathetic scenes like big bindi and flowing hair (bathrakali hair).. I think this actress thinks she is very successful in the film industries and all praised her for her open talks regarding her depression and love life failure.. she thinks she knew everything abt Indian women... have right to say anything ...have right represent whole indian women...Feminism is equal rights for women and gender equality not bossing around men..
How many of you think that it is called being bold when you disclose to the world that you are depressed? I really dont think it is called courage..Facing your problems and coming out of them is what bold people do..But she tells the world that she is depressed, and yet people say she is Bold...:bonk Note: Iam a fan of Deepika Padukone as well..
The bakwasest video, its more like a Shampoo ad Feminism is not about putting down men...very self indulgent arrogant video
I too did not like the video. you can not say everything is your choice. Then men should have same rights to say it's their choice. of should have been equal rights to both genders and not being superior with each other. society/community wouldn't function wth this thought process
the brat house video that was made in answer to this video looks more decent to me.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhjOnXGXpHo in reply to the Deepika padukone and others like adhunika in this other video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtPv7IEhWRA and this is what happens when you send a little skewed message through a high profile person. Divorce Lawyer cites Deepika’s “My Choice” video in court to justify man’s extramarital sex | My Faking News I saw it the day it hit the media, and i told my daughter that i feel it is sending a wrong message, and i am all for empowerment, but it takes a different trajectory on empowerment at certain levels.. i object to adultery and cheating whether it is man or woman vogueempower was doing a great job and sometimes does slips.as it has in the current video.. these were good.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Onz6apV8P-A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_tHOJ49IVg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmVMJogv0qw
Good topic. I was wondering was it only me who felt like that seeing that video:spin. Waste of time making that video. And top of it her hair, i thought they wanted to show women as some strong Maha kali(or in form of Goddess) or some thing, but it dint go well at all. And it's her own choice (about sex before marriage or something) not of all other women, so there is no need to show other women with different cultures (in the form of their clothing/bindi etc).
