    Hello ladies...
I always knew that waxing is one of the best ways to remove hairs but I'm just too lazzyyy at times. I usually prefer doing it on my own.But somehow to save time and energy I decided to invest in an epilator. I bought a Braun silk epil (leg, body and face).
I tried it on my hand first and could not see much difference. And then it struck me I was holding it in the wrong direction (silly medoh1).

Yes it did feel extremely smooth and hell its so easy.
The legs and hands were done in just 30mins.Waxing would have taken atleast 40-45mins plus the waiting time in a parlor.
I was so happy that i immediately relayed it to my whatsapp group, and then the horror!!
My friend told me epilators can spoil skin. I was upset.

I want to know your experiences. is it really that harmful, specially on the face??

For the time being I've decided to use epilator and wax strips alternatively. I hope that would save me. Waxing comes with its own side effect of loosening the skin...which i think I'm facing already.

    Welcome back D'

Me too just barged in to say hi. :)

I can say something about escalator but don't wish to escalate your irritation any further and turn a foe. Better remain friends. :)

The effects on the skin depends on your skin and the fineness of the hair and how your skin reacts to the pulling effect.

I dont use any of these products as I am naturally endowed with hairless skin and long silky hair stays strictly only on my head ;-)

But I am an information gatherer and absorber - since no one has answered your question, please allow me to share what I have learnt :)

The after effects on the skin is due to the pulling effect of the epilator - the skin gets pulled with the hair and gets irritated and takes time to go back to the original place and the left over hair that is not pulled grows inwards - that forms black dots on the skin - check google about ingrown hair !!!

But nowadays, you get icepacks with the epilator, so they soothe the skin before and after pulling, so there is much less pulling

Epilator is much much better for the skin than waxing (because of hot wax on tender skin) or chemicals or scrubs.

Make sure you pamper your skin before and after use of epilators and you have nothing to worry :)

    Hello dear

I am using the epilator for the past 2 months its quite good. But I dont use it for face. My skin is so smooth after using that.

I am using the same brand. unfortunately within one week my hair started re-growing, i donno when it will slow down. :( So far my skin is good, no color change.I will recommend epilators :)

@hrastro Thank you so much for the info.

@lazy good to know you're also using the same brand as mine. I 've found some company here. Even now I use it twice a month. And for the ingrown hairs (mostly on legs, hands 're safe as of now ) I am using pumice stone occasionally. How about you???
My skin does turn a lil red and for that i put on a lil vaseline and it goes off.

Yes am also using twice a month, bit lazy to do it regularly :p Before using epilator I will have a scrub bath, and also use pumice stone.

And will use the epilator only during night, before going to sleep. After using it, I will get little red bumps. For that I will apply few drops of almond oil on my skin. almond oil also helps in skin tanning. If possible give a try to that :)

By morning everything will be fine :))
