How all working women manage both office and Home? Its very difficult to do..Can anyone give their suggestions how to manage both the office and home without any fights between husband and wife? Staying in Bangalore traffic plays a very bad part..Reaching home late in evening time what mostly all of you prepare? The whole week how all manage and what we should prepare and keep in the fridge so that it will good for us to reach office at time during morning time and at night also no problem? when we leave home while going to office, the whole house is full of mess..No one is there to clean home and when we return from office we feel hungry and don't feel like doing any thing..sat and sun too much of work to do...how everyone cleans the clothes? Please share all your experiences here...

    Thanks

First of all, it is the responsibility of all at home to tidy up after themselves. It is not your job to pick up after everyone. Is it just you and your husband? If yes, get him to tidy up the house while you cook. Make sure that things are returned to their original place once you're done with them and there is not much tidying up to do afterwards.

Have a list of things to do - laundry, washing up, vacuuming etc. and before anyone can sit in front of the tv or a gadget, they must make sure that there are no chores they could do.

Otherwise have a rota for all tasks from the morning right from making the bed.

Also having a maid and cook would help greatly.

The website flylady has a lot of tips.

    Hi op ,
    Cooking :
Cook 3,4 veg and keep it in fridge so you have to cook in the week

I make chapatis for entire week and keep in individual portions in aluminum foils , use to take one out for lunch or dinner , heat up in microwave for 30 secs and eat.

Make everything in big batches and keep a portion in freezer .

If you want to cook everyday ,cut everything including onions and keep in fridge , so that it is easy to create a meal .

Make atta once and then store daily portions in freezer . Move to fridge in the morning to use in the evening . Store them in aluminum foil which will let it stay more fresh without any change in color or texture .
Cook one pot meals like pulao or khichidis , fried rice etc for dinner

I know many who eat dosa / idli for dinner , make batter and keep it handy in fridge .

Ii prefer eating out on a weekday than a weekend

    Clothed :

Use washing machine and used dhobi to get it ironed .

See If you can hire a maid/ cook .

Plan ahead of time. Make a menu for the week. For working women more than anything else it is the food that sometimes becomes a challenge. And in my opinion, planning a menu is the most time consuming thing.

    This is what I do:
Write down on a paper - Monday to Friday. Lunch and Dinner for all members (DH, DS, and me) This is done on Friday evening itself for the following week. Then over the weekend I buy all the necessary groceries for the meals. Cut and bag if possible. Some curries I cook and keep (esp brinjal)

We keep one weekday for laundry. One day for cleaning.
Son sets the table and is responsible for clearing his own lunch bag, and for keeping his room neat (making him do it is another ordeal)
Husband is responsible for ironing and he does the vacuuming or cutting grass. Which ever he does, I do the other that week.
I am totally responsible for the food, but while it is cooking I get other work done around the house.

The advantage (?) in India is having a maid, and a person to iron clothes. Here we don't have either.

The main thing is planning....and sticking to the plan. I stick the weekly menu on the fridge so nobody will ever ask me what is cooking. And nobody asks for specials during the week. We have been doing it this way for many years now and it works. Both to save time, as well as making sure I don't buy so many veges and they get wasted.
