    Hi friends

I am from Delhi. My daughter is in XI Standard. Has taken science stream. She wants to pursue aeronautical engineering. Both me and my husband are from commerce background. So we do not have much knowledge in this field.

After 12 my daughter wants to do her engineering from US University. For this she has enquired that she has to clear SAT exam. She will be appearing for it in April. While browsing this site i found most of u have settled in US. Can anyone guide me as to what else my daughter has to do other than giving SAT exam to seek admission in a US University.

I looked for a forum for education... but could not find it.... so posting here.

Hope someone finds time to reply.

    Bye

    US for Masters degree

    Hi Priyum,

If your daughter is in XI, I take it that she is around 15 or 16 yrs of age. At that age I dont think it is a wise idea to come to the US for education. Bachelors degree is very hard here, cause it is 4yrs of education unlike india and it is a major financial burden for the parents.
People who come from India to US for higher education mostly come after their bachelors for their masters, which is not that hard and can be completed in couple of yrs, when compared to bachelors. More importantly kids are more mature enough to come to another country and live on their own. So it is a good option for ur daughter to finish her engineering in India in a good college and then come to US. Moreover Indian IITS are much better than most colleges here.
This is just my opinion. let me know if you need further help. I can find out from my friends here what are the necessary things needed.

    aeronotics in Russia

    Hi,

This is Umapraveen. iam working for russian consulate. If US graduation seems to be costly, u can go ahead for Aeronotical engineering with pilot license in Russian universities. (petersberg/ moscow/ryazan) It would be 5 years course including the preparatory course. which has been legally recognised all over the world. Learning aeronotics with pilot course will be offered only in russian aeronotical institutes.

    regards,

    Umapraveen.

    Re: aeronotics in Russia

    Hi Umapraveen,:thumbsup
    • Firstly congratulations that u are working in the Russian Consulate, Chennai as the Regional Manager. A plum job, I am sure!! Does that mean u know Russian language???
    • Next, my son is appearing for his Std. 10 CBSE Public Exam commencing on 4 March & ending on 30 March 2009, from Sri Sathya Sai Hr.Sec.School, Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh. He is a topper in his class & I expect him to be amongst the toppers in his school & state in the ensuing exams as well. I plan to join him in FIIT JEE, Hyderabad that will coach him for the next 2 years, in addition to his Std 11 & 12 courses for IIT, EAMCET & other Engineering Entrance Exams which my son will have to take after his Std 12 exams. With this background about him, I have a few queries to ask you.
    • My son has a special liking to undergo Aeronautical Engineering Course. (Is there a difference between aeronautic engg. & aerospace engg???)
    • Will you be able to help me with vital informations like: the best colleges available in Russia, the pre requisites to join the colleges, details & duration of the courses, hostel & other facilities available for a student from India who has no relatives or friends there in Russia, the fees structure, the time of commencement of his courses and any other relevant information that you think will be of benefit to me to help me take a decision for my son????
    • Is it also possible for him to take up education in a good school in Russia after he has completed his Std 10, this year itself??? If yes, please give me the details of this too.
    • I am currently a resident in Dubai, UAE and would be very glad to gain your acquaintance.
    • If you have no objection, you may be in contact with me in my phone: 009-71-55-3245623.
I eagerly await your response to this important mail.:thumbsup
    Take care & best wishes
    Mrs. Anuradha
