Re: Sago Payasam / Jewarecy Payasam Dear Krishnamma, Please help........ I wanted to make this payasam and so I bought Sago (the pack said it is from Tapioca). I fried it in ghee, it did not increase in size but turned slight brown. I then added water and started stirring. Everything dissolved!! What am i doing wrong?? Witsend Thanks for your time, Bee
Dear Bee, You did correct only. The quality of sago is like that.:thumbsdown we cant help it. Try to get big size sago.
Dear Krishnamma, Thanks a lot! I'm very new to making sweets and I gingerly approach each sweet recipe. I chose this one since it looked very easy and I was mighty disappointed with what happened! I will look around for bigger sago here. Thanks a lot, Bee
Hi bee, Dont worry. you can make sweets with out any problem. Because of the stuff it went like that. Generally it will become 2 - 3 times bigger than its original size. Then you will get correct payasam. Try just rice payasam as a start. You will get good result. See my son's thread. He will also prepare that payasam easily.:-D He is a small boy who is preparing those items, then why not you? cheer up dont worry.
