GEMS Westminster School - Al Wakra (September 2014) Curriculum: National Curriculum for England Bhuvana, please take GEMS school out of my first post on this thread. Thank you.
Oh no.... shakehead So sad to know that GEMS is going to have only British curriculum. Lets wait and see, if they come up with Indian curriculum too, in the near future waitingsmiley
OMG....dissapoinment...I hope they would come up with CBSE school soon...,....or take up DMIS as they did before(being greedy huh????)....There is a rumour that DMIS management is changing next year.If it comes under GEMS again , it would be jackpot for all DMIS parents. All high hopes...high hopes...
Dears , It is a great discussion going on the schools here.Keep it going as there seems to be very good info out there. When the thread reaches somewhere near the conclusion , we can actually create a single thread on Schools in Qatar and stick it out above all threads. It might serve as a master thread for Indian schools.
I inquired about the Rajagiri schools in Kerala. Great reviews! Rajagiri Public School — Kalamassery, Kochi, Kerala, India - Rajagiri Public School (This school was visited by the Duchess of Cornwall) Rajagiri Christu Jayanthi Public School - Light and Life - Rajagiri Christu Jayanti Public School. (This school is listed as one of top 20 schools in Cochin) Hope they'd adapt to Qatar fast and bring their home quality here.
I too hope the same and would consider Rajagiri Public School for my DD, if I don't get admissions in DMIS or BPS. Keeping fingers crossed for the admissions.
Another school coming up in the near future....not the next academic year though. It would be managed by the St.Patrick priests. It is in its planning phase.
There is a new age criteria now for admissions. Earlier it was three and half year for KG1 and now I think it is 3. We got a call from DMIS yesterday telling that DD is overaged for KG1 whaatsmiley. She will be turning 4 this Feb. We went to them last year and they told us that she is underaged. When we told them the same thing now, they are telling us that SEC has come up with new rules this year for minimum age criteria :rant
