    Hi Friends!

I have bought Idol of Maa Lakshmi for Varalakshmi pooja...after that i am still keeping the idol in my pooja shelves only...can i keep it like that or should i wrap it in cloth and have to keep it in separate box, so that i can use it only for any pooja alone...Please suggest me

    Magee,

I have seen people worshipping with idols on a daily basis.. You will have to be very alert though to keep them in a safe area, so that you will not visit the room/ area on your spl days of the month.. From what i have heard, they say that idols of iyappan , shiv (simply to put single gods ) needed to be handled with lot of respet. Thats why most of the houses will not have iyappan, shivan photos also.. Otherwise it is good to have them in your pooja until handled properly.

If you have a pillayar, make sure that you do small abhishekam every day and offer some neivedhyam.. ( little poha, kalkand, raisins, any fruits of your wish).

I too have 2 brass annapurni idols in my daily pooja

    Dear Magee Sister,

:welcome to Spiritual Forum. Glad Maa brought you here..

Goddess Lakshmi can be worshipped everyday and need not be under packing and taken out only on auspicious occasion, This is what I follow.

May Maa and Baba bless your home in abundance and guide you always, Sairam

    Hi magee,

Also what is the height of your Laksmi idol? And what is the material used to make the idol? A general guideline is that idols which are to be kept in the home altar are advised to be lesser than 6 inches in height and also preferably not made by panchalogam or black granite like in temples.
As matiravi has said, Usually elders advise that deities like Sivalinga are not advised to keep in the pooja room UNLESS one can do proper prayers like abishegam and proper poojas.
