kalavara for biriyani-ajwa for fried chicken-chicking for buffet lunch and dinner-rajdhani hotels all of them
Cafe Mojo..in Kuravankonam for Chinese, Thai and Italian food. Hotels of Rajadhani group for Buffet.... If you want to try a variety, hotel Rahmania (kethel's chicken), hotel Buhari (mutton) in Chalai. But not sure if these hotels provides a decent ambience for family.
KFC is there for Fried Chicken... Near Ayurveda College Dominos is there for pizza at Vellaamabalm - Sasthamangalam Rd Tharavattil Plaza Near Vikas Bhavan for Biriyani
I am from trivandrum but living in kochi... in kochi I have a handful of resturantants where family can enjoy the dinner, But its pathetically sad that in trivandrum, I never find the same ambience anywhere Rajadhani group provide buffet, But once I happened to visit Property in Ulloor... The rate was like 99/- or something... But the crowd was behaving like they were put on hunger for years.... The food spread was in different levels, we have to climb steps up n down to take the food and to eat it... It was desperate... Then I stepped to their property in statue.... That was even worse, it was roof top, No a/c.. we were sweating like anything......Once i visited the well famous sindhoor (i remmeber the name was sindhoor, it was near cotton hills girls high school), It was like a bar scene of 80's pictures, anyways I asked the waiter about american choupsey with Bulls eye, he simply told that its not possible, then i wanted to talk with the chef, the manager told, they wont allow to talk... Finally i just had a fresh juice and left the place... I was wondering why such a well established hotel is refraining their customer from talking with the chef... Recently I read out in newspaper that they were locked for food poisioning....Now I understand, Either there were no chef, even if they had one, he must be not in a attire to come out to the dinning hall Earlier in 2002 there was a small restuarant under Pattom Spencer's, I cant recollect the name, but it was a superb place.....I cherish the Arul Jyothi, Aruna, Azad and such hotels in 1990-2000 period... they were providing good food and superb ambience... Kethels chicken is too good, but I suggest take a parcel to home... further about that Zam group near palayam... the worst ever hotel i came across... Poor cleaniness and attitude people... they arrange their dinning hall like a hostel mess... no privacy between the table.. you can just place your a** and eat the food come out.... Ariya nivas is a good option, but there too i doubt on cleanliness.... Newly opened Aryas in (almost opposite to that ariya nivas) is also good for a visit
The newly opened Biverah is a good place,... I just visited once, the food is mind blowing... BUT NO BAR
