I came across this list of some veggies and fruits good for hair on the web. Do include these in your daily diet to promote healthy hair growth...

CARROTS are a good source of Vitamin A which helps to keep the scalp healthy.

SPINACH contains Vitamin C which helps to produce sebum. Sebum is produced by the hair follicles which act as natural conditioner.

All dark coloured fruits like CHERRIES, STRAWBERRIES, PLUMS raise the level of blood circulation in the scalp and helps in healthy hair growth.

Besides a good diet, our hair also needs a regular warm oil massage. Use a good shampoo and conditioner. Always use a wide-tooth comb. Never run a comb on wet hair as this leads to hair breakage. Do not expose hair to too much chemicals during colouring or straightening.
Apply Henna once a month to nourish and condition the hair

Dark Green Vegetables, Legumes like kidney beans and lentils should be an important part of your hair-care diet. Not only do they provide plentiful protein to promote hair growth, Dark green vegetables also provide iron and calcium.

Some ancient popular remedies for hair growth:

    1. The commonly found Hibiscus is a great herb that promotes hair growth. Boil the flowers and leaves overnight and strain the water and apply it on scalp the following morning. This is why you see why the ladies of Kerala have lustrous hair.

    2. Make a thick paste of henna and gooseberry powder and use it as a shampoo. This might trigger cold in few people since the properties of henna cools the body.

    3. Neem oil also promotes hair growth.

    4. Boil a spoon of fenugreek seeds with virgin coconut oil and apply the oil on the scalp the next day.

    5. Consuming soaked fenugreek seeds in the morning has curative and restorative properties.

i do believe that genes play am imp. part in having good hair.

if u have thin hair look at ur mom or dad or remember ur grand parents!
about stress i have seen a lady with lustrous hair(her hair resembled a python),who is always stressed!
and being a vegetarian is also a disadvantage(i'm a pakka veggie)

those who r eating fish have good hair ,i think.
    almonds,walnuts,cashews,lettuce,dates,milk are all good.
fresh aloe pulp applied to scalp is good.

    regards
    vidya
