Banana is good to improve weight

Eggs really help with weight gain.

I gave one egg per day ( omelet cooked with few frops of ghee with an extremely small pinch of pepper, cumin seed powder). I noticed that my child was getting sick less frequently also. Hope this helps.

Also try amul cheese slices one per day.

Not sure if you are a non vegetarian .....when I realized that my little one likes meat taste more than dal / sambar taste, feeding became a lot easier.

Feed things that the kid likes when you are tired/ end of day and give foods that are healthy but hated by your child when you are free and calm. Then both of you will not end up frustrated.

    Hi,

I am trying to give egg,but she has not yet got a tooth, so giving egg yolk is easier, but white i am not sure how to give..
The tip that you gave is very useful,""Feed things that the kid likes when you are tired/ end of day and give foods that are healthy but hated by your child when you are free and calm. Then both of you will not end up frustrated. ""
will try for sure...and i am sure it will work....

    Thanks a lot....

@thejashree my LO is 9 months old. She has no teeth yet. But I give her all kinds of food (vegetarian). I mash it by hand.

For rice did you try changing to raw rice instead of red/boiled. With red rice she will not put on weight.

Now that the baby is 1 year old, you can mash the rice. I pressure cook rice, moongdal and veggies for a longer time than usual and mash it and feed my 9 month old LO. If the child is younger , you can mash it, sieve the water and feed the baby.
Do not grind the rice.. its not advisable.

    Alternate:
You can make rice powder and store it for 4 -5 days.
Rinse the rice thoroughly and let it air dry . See that there is no moisture when you are grinding in mixie.
Make a powder of this rice and store it in an airtight container.

For preparation- Take the required quantity , say 2 tbsp of rice in cold water and mix it thorougly without any lumps. Keep it on stove and keep stirring till it thickens so that no lumps are formed and you have the desired consistency.

I have never tried this as my baby eats mashed rice..got this recipe from a friend.

Thank you for the suggestion, my LO does eat mashed rice, and since she is 1 yr old i dont want to powder and vegs she likes to see them and be mashed in front of her...i even give cooked pieces in her hand so that she enjoys the food..and sits in one place too....

@thejashree no grinding only mashing. Also check for nendran podi. It is supposed tone good for gaining weight. I have just now started trying it. It has just been 2 days. Hopefully LO gains some weight.
