This year I am planning to visit ooty flowershow just for 3 days.I am starting from banglore on May 3 and reach coimbatore on 4th at 5.45am.The toy train is at 7.15am is it possible to reach mettupalayam and catch the train or instead proceed to ooty by bus.I DONT MIND TO SKIP TOY TRAIN RIDE AS I HAVE BOOKED IN TOYTRAIN FROM UAM TO MTP So that I will reach ooty by morning and will have time to see places like doddabetta , dolphin nose and sims park.(Can I engage an auto for this purpose)? Next day May5th Botanical garden and boat ride. May 6th do shopping and take toy train and reach Mettupalayam at 3.30pm and take bus to coimbatore. Our train from coimbatore to Banglore is 10.30pm.So I am planning to take a cab/auto to Dhayanalingam Yogic temple just 25kms from coimbatore junction. DO I NEED TO ADD SOME MORE PLACES OR LEAVE SOME PLACES? I AM TRAVELLING WITH 2 KIDS SO I WANT IT TO BE ENJOYABLE. WILL THERE BE A LONG Q FOR BUS FROM COIMBATORE TO OOTY? WHAT WILL BE THE COST FOR TAXI? I've typed the above in caps just to pointout my doubts Please pour your valuable suggestions
both bus and train will be horrible..... i am staying near to mtp but still i never used train because it is not good , don't know when it will stop:hide: yes there will be queue for bus from mtp to ooty, and also bus will be very old type:spin train will be good comparatively to bus but ur luck should play there
Best to fix an taxi and move all the day with the Taxi, so that you dont miss anything there... Also you will not feel tired tooo..which is most important on health view.. Regards
Hi Cost of taxi from CBE to Ooty, for a day trip will cost you anything from 3000 upwards depending on where you want to go and places you want to see.
Dear Priya, Please check with your hotelier for the package trip. They will arrange a 22 seater vehicle which will cost you as below. This is the cheap and best. I had just been to ooty 2 weeks ago. And auto is little expensive compared to below. Day 1: (They will cover the below completely just for Rs. 125/- per head) Doddabeta Sims park: waste of time as their is nothing much to see. Rose Graden: Again waste of time as their is nothing much to see. Dolphin Nose Lamb's rock Toy train journey Botanical Garden Tea factory/Chocolate factory DAY 2: (Rs. 275/- per head) Pykara lake 6th mile 9th mile madumalai forest DAY 3: you can see if you wanted to see any other places apart from above. Regards
hey i loved sim park... awesome trees never before australian trees are there....beautiful surroundings
If you are going by bus from Coimbatore to Ooty, then you have to wait in a very long queue in Coimbatore bus stand for Ooty bus. As all the Ooty buses go via Coonoor, if its okay for you, better take a bus to Coonoor from Coimbatore, for which there will be no crowd. From Coonoor, there are buses to Ooty, which is another 45 minutes drive. Even if you are to change buses, you can have a comfortable travel. That's what we did last year during our trip to Ooty.
