My son will turn 3 in April,2012. And we parents are still battling about the schooling bit.Is it too early for him ?? I mean I feel its too early ..(mommy heart) We live in International city, so the best option in Rajagiri..travelling is less. plus heard its good school..But I really need some more advice..second opinion about the school and the ideal age to put them in school. My boy will turn 3 on 8th of april..and I cant imagine sending him to school just days after his 3rd birhtday..is he gonna be the youngest in the class..will he be bullied or something? He is just being potty trained and I'm still breastfeeding him..OMG !!!!! Somebody help me..My hub is kinda cool about the whole idea..but we both ahve to decide on one common thing.
Appreciate if you can put some sense into my head..
    A super worried mom.

    Hi,

i can understand your concern as every mom go through these tensions :)

Rajagiri is definitely a good school. There was some issue with respect to the management changing.but offlate things seem to be under control.Anyways,if the school is under the same rajagiri management, then u have nothing to fear and u could definitely try for admission there..Incase there is a change in the management, then you will have to see which group is taking over n then decide accordingly.

Personally i feel ur son is small to be put into kg1 though he would fulfill the age bar criteria.
Ideal age for kg1 is 3 1/2 to 4 yrs.so maybe u should put him in kg1 only next year when he turns 4..and till then u could put in some nursery.. :)

    hi
Regarding the reputation of the school RAJAGIRI is a wonderfull school. The same management is going to continue so no problem in that. My son is also april born and i had put him in school at in the correct age only he was able to cope and doing great till now

Are you sending your child to any payschool or nursery now if you are then its ok to send him to school next year . But if you are not sending i will advise you to send him to a nursery or playschool. It will be easy for him to adjust in school. And about the feeding part i think you should start the normal milk for him as soon as possible. It is not good for him and you also to continue this .Dont take me wrong on this matter.

My daughter is in Rajagiri and all is well at the moment. The mgmt is not going to change and it is going to continue as Rajagiri Intl school. It is a good school although i feel the syllabus is a bit low for grade I....my daughter is in Grade I and is now learning what she did in her earlier school in KG 2. But otherwise the teachers are very involved with parents, approchable, and you can talk to them at any time about your child.

Nowadays most school are strict about the age at the time of joining school...so much depends on the school...whether they are willing to take your son at 3 years of age.. i think the requirement is 3 and a half years. Or else you can wait till sept, because the 2nd term starts in september and you can join him in kg1 then...in the meanwhile you can teach him the basics at home so that he will find it easy to cope mid-way through the term.

Before you think of putting him in any school, you need to get the breast feeding out of the way because it will cause additional stress to the child... going to school + being away from you and feeding normal milk.

Hi,My daughter is 3 and a half and I have put her in rajagiri.but she is going to a playschool now.I am glad u decided to put him in nursery now.Don't just drop him off and leave if he is not happy with it but ask the teachers if you can stay with him till he adjusts to the new faces.if you can do that, thts best for him.if he cries tht is not okay.he cries because he is sad and confused and only 3 n u r dropping him off in an unknown place with strangers! I believe it is our duty as mothers to take care of that.

Also try stopping the breastfeeding slowly and not abruptly.stop the daytime feeding first by reducing the time u feed, the number of times by distracting him with other things he is interested in.night time will b harder to stop but follow the same method.it will b tiring for you and u will need plenty of patience but this is the best way and pls don't use any kind of bitter tasting things to stop feeding as a lot of mothers do which is just plain wrong!
i hope my advice was of help.take care and i hope your son stays happy.cheers:)

hey thanks.. We are working on the feeding issue bit by bit..
(god help us) !!!! No..bitter stuff is a thing of the past..wont try it ever. feeding in the night just before bed is kind of calming for him i guess..probably thats the reason he wont let go if its his bedtime. but I've noticed the days when I feel real tired I just tell him no, he sorta listens. But i still have to work on it..
Sending him to nursery is definite once he turns 3 next month. Do you have any suggestions? Are there any good ones in International city? heard theres one in China/Russia??? any reviews? There are real good ones in Mirdiff..anyone send their LOs there?

I'm not familiar with the ones in international city.my daughter currently goes to yellow brick road nursery in garhoud.it's easy for us cos it's only a 3 minutes drive.I am very satisfied with the nursery and she loves going.she even wants to go on fridays :D. It's one of the branches of beautiful minds nurseries.i think they have one branch in arabian center. heres their website if u want to chek it out Yellow Brick Road Nursery School for kids, Al Garhoud, Dubai,UAE

i had actually put her in when she was 2 but she was crying like crazy so i knew she wasn't ready.i took her out and she rejoined when she turned 3. i stayed with her in class for a week till she got adjusted with the teachers. so there were no tears and she adjusted beautifully.
