    Hello Ladies,

As summer is approaching, so are all the problems that come with summer.

The most common problem that everyone complains of is the mosquito season. It is so terrible to have mosquitoes all around and they seem to have become completely immune to all the measures.
Mosquito coils cause irritation. Liquidators like Goodnight, Mortein,AllOut etc. are just not of any use. Sprays also give a very short releif and the mosquitos are back.

We have seen this device which attracts flying insects in restaurants, bakeries etc. It is called Pest O Flash and has coated tubelights with flourescent purplish light that attracts flying insects.

If anyone has this product, please do share your experiance as we are also considering to buy that, but have no idea as to how effective it is.

    Thanks in advance

I have used bug zappers (in the house) here in the USA and I have had mixed results. My original was a small electric one...it was ok. Then I got a rechargable battery one that was quite good but eventually burned out and the bulb could not be replaced. Then I got a solar rechargeable one and it was horrible and killing nothing. I am currently hoping to find another indoor one in the future.

When you use a bug zapper they fly into the light and get zapped and the body of the insect may or may not fall under the unit. I would not put it over your bed or kitchen table. The light will draw insects into the house if you don't close it up after nightfall. Some of them make a buzzing sound that can be annoying. Now the pros: they work! I used to close the windows and doors at night fall and turn it on and shortly after the mosquitoes and other small flying insects were zapped. I used to put it on the floor in the kitchen and the body clean up was done by a spider. You can turn one on in say the parlor and then go to bed and flying insects in the house will fly to that light if the other rooms are dark. I would buy one if I were in India with the caveat being that it was not too noisy or expensive. I like the wall mount option on this unit.

Thanks tashidelek2002 for the pros and cons...

Still considering to buy one of the zappers and see how it works. These mosquitoes are immune here down Chennai...probably its the human blood that is working wonders for them!!!

Pest o Flash works well for few days but in few days the flies and mosquitoes understand that it is dangerous and dont go anywhere near it. Smart ones, eh?

My husband's friend purchased it for his sweet stall. It worked for a few days. and then flies stopped going near it. So he tries different methods like covering the tubes with tranparent colored paper. Works for a few more days then he comes up with something else.

:rotfl They drink our blood and are healthy while we all scik due to their bites...

Thanks dear for your FB. Right now we are still fighting the battle with the rechargeable mosquito swatters.
