    When
    colleges reopened in June,
And we settled in our new desks..
Few are new faces as most are from my UG mates and other departments of same college..

ONLY 9 GALS AND 21 BOYS..

I cant forget that day in Ist year, before 1st semester,
We had 3 classes in morning and 2 in afternoon.
One day my HOD announced that, afternoon practical classes are cancelled today as they had some prob with computers..
So we gals became very happy,so thought of going home..
Also, we are suprised with another good news that, morning 3rd class is also free since one professor was on leave.. We gals became very much excited and started planning seriously to go out..
Suddenly we planned to go for a movie after having lunch at my friends home home.
But things got changed all for a sudden, my HOD changed the mornign 2 classes to afternoon. Even then we decided to go for a movie by morning itself, and thought of coming back to college by noon.
See, how we gals decided everything very smartly.
One of my friend suggested to go for a movie(kushi movie)..
But unfortunately, we didnt get tickets.
So decided to go to Ajith movie, we enjoyed a lot..
By noon 2pm, when we entered the class, all boys were laughing at us. They were started moving out from class. Then we asked where they are going. Everyone got totally upset after hearign that sad news. yes, HOD once again changed the afternoon classes to morning itself(2nd & 3rd hour class, first hour was free).
But We gals, started immediately in morning, coz movie time was 10.00 It was already 9.30,so we started soon. So, we didnt get the news as HOD decided this by 10 only.
Our HOD called and warned ,scolded us badly. Then we explained HOD that, since all the morning classes were free, we planned to go out.
They asked us to bring letter form parents about this. We all got very much angry but didnt showed infront of them. Since we were in first year, we had to shut our mouth.

Next day, we got letter from our parents and gave it to HOD.
Luckily, none our parents scolded us.
This is my memorable event in my college time..
When we entered into 2nd year, our college timings has changed ..Morning 8 to 1.00PM
I used to take lunch at home only.. In break times, we gals used to get fanta and coke, we mix it together and enjoyed it..
    Second year also crossed...
In final year, we were all became very closed...
5th sem is the last one for us..since final semester is for doing projects..
So we used to say till 4 in evening..
We will have lunch outside sometimes..sometimes brought from home and had under trees..

    Gone are the days
    We enjoyed,
    We played,
    We won,
    We lost,
    We laughed,
    We cried,
    We fought,
    We thought.
With so much fun in them, so many friends,
So much experience, all this and more!
    Gone are the days
    When we used
To talk for hours with our friends!
Now we don’t have time to say a `Hi’! :(
    Gone are the days
    Ever and ever and ever…..
Gone are the Days…. But still there are lot more Days to come in our Life!!
NO MATTER HOW BUSY YOU ARE,
    DONT FORGET TO
    LIVE THE LIFE THAT STILL
    EXISTS…….

Again a wonderful narration and your past made me to go back to my college days.... yes everyone is missing....... and we gals the most...though we have contact in phones and net, we miss the personal touch, sitting together as a group and talking for atleast 3 or 4 hours minimum, is rare to come again in life........Sweet memories!!!!!

    Dear Narmadha
This beautiful thread of yours reminds me of an old Tamil song from the movie 'Raktha Thilakam', 'Pasumai nirainda ninaivugale' written by the inimitable Kannadasan. That song brings out the pangs of parting on the last day of our student life. We move to another phase of our life from there and make new friends. The friends of our schools and colleges who appeared an integral part of our life once are soon forgotten and new ones take their place.

The popular movie star Siddharth's dad was my closest friend in school. We were that close that if one took leave, the other would also take leave. We used to think of each other as the very purpose of our schooling! I remember how we cried on the last day of our school. We parted company thereafter and slowly new friends occupied the place in my heart that he once ruled like a monarch! I met him a couple of years back in a train and felt happy. We talked of our old days but without much passion merely as a matter of fact. He was talking mainly of his actor son and I had to listen! When the train reached its destination, we shook our hands and dissolved into the crowd.

Your title 'Gone are the days' made me introspective. Days don't go anywhere. Only we move away from them. That is how Nature has designed our life. Each station in the journey of life must be left behind however beautiful they are. We just need to carry on with our lives!
    Sri
