Today is Valentines day I think this the day to celebrate Love and I think love is something not limited to spouses ...
. A chat with my friend made me nostalgic about my summer days as a kid....It brought the lovely carefree days when we siblings learnt sewing and some moral lessons too...
It was my misfortune that I lost my paternal grandparents when I was 3 years old and my maternal grandpa at the age of 7yrs So had just few memorable years at my maternal grandparents place...of whicjh I remember the huge mango my grandpa used to bring almost all days so we siblings n cousins amounting to 20 had good feast everyday...And I was always amazed that my grandpa never used to get irked by us and also his mere presence made us silent which none of our parents could achieve we used to sleep in the afternoon because we had nothing to do and whatever we did created such racket blissful cackling or cries fights et al....So to let grandpa have peaceful siesta we too had ours.....After his demise my grandma used to visit either of her son or daughters during summertime so most of my summer were spent at my home...
During summer to keep us from playing out in hot Sun my mom used to take up hand sewing job so that we sewed new covers to our pillow or sewed grocery bags /school bags.... in this way we learnt sewing but we dint like sewing but to keep us to our work she used to tell very interesting stories all her own made up one...
Her stories she used weave so that it taught us valuable lessons...Whenever we did wrong she never used to rebuke or hit us but she used to make us feel repentent n correct ourselves thru these stories....That made us respect her a lot...and to seek her advice..which even now I do....I love You mom....

Oh VJ! you have made me feel all nostalgic. It brought back the good old days when my mother encouraged me to paint, embroider and what not! She is the one who made me what I am now. A lovely dedication, VJ.
