There has been so much talk of the new food show FOODISTAN on NDTV GoodTimes. This show is about the culinary skills of India and Pakistan where talented chefs from both the countries come face to face and compete against each other for the best flavours and cooking styles.

The judges are actress Sonya Jehan from Pakistan (grand-daughter of yesteryear actress NoorJehan), Indian Food Critic Vir Sanghvi and Merrliees Parker (host of GlobeTrekker, Travel Channel) from UK.

Through this show, we see that Indians and Pakistanis share almost the same culinary skills. We use the same spices and even have common mothods of cooking. The only difference is that India being such a diverse and vast country has much more to offer from various parts of the country.

Traditional recipes from both the countries are shared here on this show. At first, we thought that it is going to be like any other cookery show, but this is more of a competitive cookery show. The hosts are Aly Khan from Pakistan (not very interesting) and the petite daughter of yesteryear Indian actress Lillette Dubey - Ira Dubey.

It is just the beginning, but hoping to get a glimpse of more cookery skills and flavours from across the border.

Do share your views on this show...IndusLadies...Its nice to see how much we share in common with our neighbour Pakistan.

    Anybody watching???

Show has reached the second stage and dear me...we Indians do have great talented chefs. With the varied cuisines and lovely presentations, it is good to see chefs from both the sides battling for the numero uno position.

Actually, the anchoring part is a bit boring. Aly Khan bugs you to no end with his repeated slogan of "Playing for Pride, Honour and Glory"
Rest, we watch it just to see what cooks on the other side of the border. More so, as our roots are from Pakistan and my great grandparents moved to India during the partition time. A lot of traditional dishes in our community have similar cooking styles as in Pakistan.

Anyway, just hoping the shpw takes a better turn. Right now, on most occasions, we have observed that its difficult for Pakistanis to take criticism unlike the Indian chefs who agree to what the judges say in good spirit.

Yes we too watch the show just for these innovative chefs. The game-changers are itself the biggest challengers. But lets see...now who makes it to the finals.
