    Hi friends,

I am looking for a recipe for Palak gravy. I want to make Vegetable Koftas in Palak Gravy. I know how to make the koftas, but not very sure of the gravy.

Seen a lot of recipes on the web, but could not stay away from putting up this thread as recipes over here come straight from a kitchen and not bookish. Thanks in advance.

Fry onions, garlic, green chillies, cumin seeds in ghee or oil.

When it softens add chopped palak.

    Cook till palak becomes soft.

Cool this and grind in mixie.

Thanks Aparnag....will surely try it out. This seems simple and healthier as it is minus the cashewnut paste as I have seen in many recipes.

This is the basic recipe i use for all palak dishes...
I do add cashew sometimes (when i have guests..) this is a worth try.. I use it for aalu palak, panner, masala, koftha palak.. everything almost...
also if you want a palak recipe for rice here it is..
Chop palak, fry without oil, cook covered so that the color is not lost...
Cool and grind.. now add it to curd or butter milk and give it a mild tadka... add ground nuts if u like...

RK dear today I thought of visiting some of your threads. Here is my recipie for Palak Gravy

I first boil the palak with salt and haldi. Then when cool grind it. Fry onions, tomatoes, green chillies, ginger and grind it and add to the palak and also add garam masala sometimes

Nice. Even I cook the leaves and grind to paste, so that the taste is maintained.
