"Jaan bachi to laakhon paaye, laut ke buddhu ghar ko aaye"
which means roughly the same as the Tamil "Pona machan tirimbi vandaan"
"(Wo)man proposes, God disposes".

What do all these proverbs in common? All apply roughly to "yours faithfully" at the current time. :hide:

No, don't ask me whether I finally had my way and got hold of my laptop in hospital. I would rather think I had my way and stayed with my laptop at home. :coffee So here I am back like a [IMG]

Or maybe all the prayers of friends and relatives kept me from going in (at least temporarily). :biggrin2: That is why God disposed of the plans.

As it happened the two surgeons concerned decided that they were not happy with the blood reports and wanted to wait, just in case I created problems for them after the surgery (probably they heard my plans of real time blogging about them :rotfl) and decided they wanted a holiday of 15 days each (one after the other) to brace themselves for the whirlwind which is about to hit them. And since they love their colleagues in the pathology department with whom they share all their joys and sorrows, they have decided to let them spend time over the whirlwind while they themselves take a break. ("How do you solve a problem like Maria"? Simple. Let her loose on other unsuspecting souls :biglaugh).

So that means for the next month or so, you are all destined to read some snippets here (whether you like it or not). :boo:

And I know when I next say I am going to be missing for a while, it will be a case of "When Maria cried 'FIRE', they only said little liar". [IMG] Maybe on second thoughts, my parents should have named me "Maria".

HEY, BUT I AM MASSIVELY THRILLED TO BE BACK HERE. :-D

So are we, Satchi, so are we! Massively thrilled to see you back here.
When I was a young boy (you have to stretch your imagination quite a bit to think of me as a young boy but believe me, I was once a young boy!), I had very bad septic tonsils. I had no idea what it was all about but looking at my mother crying, I knew it was something pretty serious. The Surgeon wanted to remove it immediately and before I could count ten, I was on the Surgeon's table awaiting the scalpel. I was put on GA and a little while later, I opened my eyes. The Surgeon was looking quite irritated and asked me to scamper home. I did not feel the pain of operation. I was not given the Ice cream that I was promised post-surgery.

My brother was outside the room grinning broadly. He told me that my tonsil got scared of the surgeon and ran away! Later on I was told that I did not take too kindly to the GA that was administered and became rough with the Surgeon. He got annoyed and told his assistant that guys like me deserved to live with a septic tonsil for the rest of my life and walked out!

Nice to see a kindred soul in you after five decades! Welcome back, Maria, the moonbeam of IL!

This should indeed be a tribute to BH, isn't it Kelly, that he has managed to stay put rather than to follow the normal human instinct and running away? Thanks for the feed back Kelly.

Dear Cheeniya Sir,

Thanks for the lovely feed back. Enjoyed reading that story. So finally did you have the tonsils removed or did they agree to coexist with you peacefully ever after? That reminded me of a similar story in my childhood with a completely different outcome. Doctors and surgeons those days were made of completely different stuff - their endurance and staying power was pretty high. Here is the link.
