    Hi all,

My 9 month daughter is sufferng from bad cough and severe cold (stuffy and runnny nose) sine 3 days and gtg on.. Luckily there is no chest and ear infection.

Her apeitite is gone very low.. She looks weak soo much.. As of now, the solids I have introduced so far when she was well was Cereals mixed with Fruiyts, Cerleac mashed dal rice and rice kanji...

Once she was sick she has been liking only rice kanji so far.. What do u all suggest..? What to give for brkfast, lunch and dinner..? So far I am giving her rice kanj twice a day and lots of water..

I think she needs lot more nutrients.. what do u suggest which is easily digestible..? Can I give dal rice..?

Thanks in Advance.. Your cooments will be very helpful to me..

during cold child will lose taste and smell...so better not struggle with ur menu..give wat she likes, struggling during feeds itself can cause aspiration and further aggravation of infection. So i suggest u to wait and start ur menu wen she recovers.

    Hi

Dont worry, ur baby will be alright...

Try to give her suzi (Fry in ghee, add milk, water, sugar), give her when its little hot..
If she likes soup, then go for it..
If u eat non veg then give her boiled egg.It helps when we have cold..
    Hot milk can be given.
Dal rice is very good, make it smooth and add ghee...

Since the baby is not well, she may not eat more, but just try different things...definitely she will like some of them....

Suzi idea is very good, if she will not eat then just give her 2/3 spoons, but try to continue...the child will gain weight nicely...It worked for me!!

Just sharing what I was giving my baby when he was at ur baby's age...It may help u...

    Breakfast...milk, biscuit
after some time Hot milk with horlics/Complan
    Lunch----Rice/dal/ghee/Vegetable
    Evening tiffin----Upma/Oats
Dinner---Rice/dal/veg or non veg OR milk/roti

you can try out to give soup,
Put one carrot cut into 5 pieces along with one table spoon moong dal in cooker adding one glass of water.
After the pressure subsides mash the contents and filter out in a mesh, this soup extract will be thick add one pinch salt and one pinch jeera powder and you can give this.
aftr cold subsides u can make the soup with tomato instead of carrot
