    hi,,
is anyone having simple recipe using oats?
my husband bought instant oats (quaker) last week. He tried once but he didn't like. So full package stays untouched till now. I was wondering if i could make another breakfast stuff using that. Please share.
    Thanks

Heat a tsp of oil. Add Jeera, a few black peppercorns and one opned green cardamom. Allow to splutter. Add about 2 tbsps of oats and saute well. Now add about 2 cups of water and let it boil till thick. Adjust salt to taste. Makes a very good and filling breakfast.

Similarly, heat a tsp of ghee, Add green cardamom and saute 2 tbsp oats. Now add about 2 cups milk and allow to boil till thick. Add sugar to taste. This is also a very tasty and healthy breakfast for those with a sweet tooth.

Technically oats is very healthy, but its taste is very bland. So, I usually powder it and mix it in Dal to give it thick consistancy. I hv also made khichdi and poha from it. I also mix it in my pancake batter with maida so that my kids gets to eat something tasty as well as healthy. Also when i make cutlets or pakoras,I sometimes replace suji with oats, to give it a crunchy effect.

Possibilities are endless, u just have to be innovative and daring !!!!

    Hi
I eat with rasam. First cook oats with water and then add rasam.especially garlic rasam goes well with oats. Or you cook oats and add curd and salt and then eat with any pickle like curd rice. You cook carrot, beans and potato like porridge and add oats. Add salt to taste. Or add milk to the cooked oats and add brown sugar and cinnamon powder. It is nice for breakfast.
    Enjoy
    Hams
