Have rambled a lot about my DD Chinni in my blogs (refer my signature for quick links). Thought I can use this thread also to share one quick wit of my Chinni, hope you will like it :)

Chinni always have the habit of removing her shoes/sandals once inside the car. I shouldnt blame her but it was always my idea otherwise I am sure the back side of the front seats will all have a new design made of little foot marks. But at times when I have to get her down faster, I found it difficult just because she has to search for her foot wear, wear it and then jump out of the car. By that time, my BP will shoot up like anything. So my DH would warn her a few blocks before the destination, asking her to search and wear her shoes. (90% she will not be ready to get down and thats a separate story)

So yesterday we decided to go to Sangeetha restuarant in Velachery. As we went by the bye pass road, we passed the Flamingo restuarant. I was asking my DH if we can go for Flamingo. Chinni immediately switched on the back light and started searching for something. When I enquired she said 'Flamingo has come, I am searching for my shoes'. We ignored her statement and started talking something so she also stopped searching and turned off the light. We pulled over at Sangeetha, she realised something and blurted out
'hayyo eranganuma... nan vera chappala kazhatti vachitten... nan oru avuthu-kari' (roughly translated as - 'oh, have we reached... i have removed my shoes... I am a 'avuthu-kari' (avukkaradhu in colloquial Tamil means removing. Kari is more like 'wali' in hindi. so she coined a new name 'avuthu-kari' meaning one who keeps removing))

We couldnt understand and were wondering. Upon realising the intent we all bursted out laughing. She felt very shy and hid herself in my dupatta.

(uh! by the time I want to post, translate it, etc. the very spirit of the joke is getting diluted. :bonk)

    Hello Tuffy
I was feeling sorry for the poor kid. Isn't it a big task for the little one....she has to remove her shoes when she sits in the car and wear it again while she is getting down. If she is not doing it fast that poor baby has to hear you telling" do it fast"........
Instead of asking Chinni to do so much you can teach her not to keep her legs up on the front seat as it will get dirty and our car will look dirty then others...these kids can understand much better then making her remove and wear her shoes every now and then.

I wish life is that easy with chinni :) Now a days she is finding it more comfortable to sit cross legged even inside the car that she herself is willing to remove her shoes. Thanks for your comment
