When I was little and lost my way, Losing all my hope and cried, You found me, asked not to sway. I'll remember that, till I die. When I got the first rank and Told you about getting a shield, Never thought that you'd come and Honour me then, I still feel. But I was moved even more When I failed your expectation, Yet you were kind to the core Consoling me with such affection. Never once have I seen you proud. You never even had a pair of shoes. I realize now and think aloud, You compromised such comforts too. I don't know if I really could Lead a life that makes my kids Proud as I of you, my dad, For all those things you did.
Your title pulled me here And felt so related to the last few lines... I was just reading some of the other ones as well Many beautiful poems from u..u write very well... All wishes.. Keep writing.. Haya
Nice one Rgs . We never did know what all our parents compromise for us and when we come to know we have nothing to compromise for them Keep on rgs
Hello Srinivasan That was a beautifully penned on the sacrifices that our parents do. Even we kids do not match to they expectations they still love us and expects to do it better next time.
Dear RGS, I got the chance to read this poem only today. What a wonderful poem. The best part is that they do all those sacrifices without expecting anything in return. They don't even expect us to mention it. Only way we can pay it back to them is to do those things to our kids and remember their sacrifices.
Rgs, Good one dear. though we know about the sacrifices, there are times it hits us in the bull's eye, and i am sure the moment that this happened was one of them.. wishing you a very happy new year...
