    hi NK,

Merchant shop means (wood materials cutting shop, marakadai in tamil), from that i bought wood scale type woods in 4 nos of equal size(any material & size based on ur needs). i''d asked them to join four edges to make it a square, (i bought it for 100 its a 30 inches). In hardware shop i bought 3/4 inch nails and i inserted those nails in that square in same intervals. Its very easy and less cost. I asked in raja thread store , it costs around 150 rs for 10 inches but i made it in 120 rs for 30 inches.:cheers

Thanks Nithy for the information. My sister did the same thing about one year back and it is lying idle in the attic. She went to the photo frame shop, picked up 4 different frames available , the smallest was 3" x 3" and the bigger was 2 feet x 2 feet. and nails were punched at even spaces. But unfortunately the nail heads are rough and the yarns does not glide smoothly. Also the nails are not rust proof , hence the whole exercise becomes waste. She did about 4 such looms for me. If we were to get the plastic then it will have a nice finish .
