    Hi ,

we are trying to find a moving toy for my son.
He loves to watch other kids and babies. So was wondering is one of those moving / crawling baby toys are available in stores?

Something like you wind up (wind with key) and then it runs or crawls on its own.
I could not find anything online.

The crawling babies seem to be for girls (doing dressup games).

    Ranchu,

how old is your son? I remember buying one toy for my son when he was still learning to crawl......it was a weasel going around a ball http://www.amazon.com/Weazel-Ball-Weasel-Rolls/dp/B000PNFZ3E He loved moving his as the toy moved and constantly tried to get closer to it pushing himself forward. I don't remember this toy needing batteries even or making noise. You should be able to get other similar toys if you google.

For my DD ofcourse we had the moving baby - she still loves it at 5! and no, does not play dress up but carries the baby around.

Like i siad, knowing the age group perhaps will help other ILites to suggest better! Happy shopping!

May I recommend this perennial favorite: Fisher-Price Pull Along Chatter Telephone - Multi#

I bought one of these for my good friend's little son in India and these are almost indestructible and kids LOVE them. He dragged this around the house, dunked it in water, sat on it, put it through hell and it was still going strong. After I left India I was talking to his mom on the phone and she was telling me that he had been in the other room on that phone. The conversation went something like this (translated):

Hello Nana (his name for me) this is Kelsang. Nana, when are you coming back?? Nana I love you. Nana please come back and give me medicine (he had been sick before I left and loved my cough drops). Nana I miss you.

(I was in tears when I heard this.)

Thanks for all your sweet responses.

    Bummaim,
Crawling baby looked too girly for my son , So i was hesitating to buy that.

    Srama,
Thanks for the weasel suggestion. Looking at this, I thought of trying out those Fur-real toys , and we got a hamster which moves around.. oh gosh , my son goes nuts chasing it around.

    Tina,
Thanks for the telephone suggestion, he does have some pull-along toys, but he seems too young for these. So have kept it away for now.
