Actor Surya to host KBC

Surya seems to be a good choice

If it based only on Cinema related questions,then he might be a good choice.. But if its something like real KBC,then I'm sure it will turn out to be a comedy:rotfl:rotfl
Karthi or Maddy would have been a better choice.Even SivaKarthekeyan can do a better job
Quiz has to be conducted by a learned person and not a heart throb.
Amitabh is successful because he is a voracious reader. OTOH,SRK a topper in school,college and known for his intelligence and quick answers.
Surya, a complete failure at school, who can never ever talk about even the technical details of a movie, hosting KBC??? :rotfl:rotfl
IMO, A quiz master should posses,
1.Wide knowledge (not Depth)
2.presence of mind
3.Good reading skills
4.Extempore speaking skills

Surya's interviews are soo boring to watch. He speakss only about his wifey n daughter.
Recently when he was asked about Bodhi Dharman, he replied that he doesn't know anything only Murugadoss knows.:bonk

 

Agreed Anu , but I think in shows like these, the last thing that the producers are looking for is someone who is knowledgeable. I mean if the host has to be knowledgeable, then why bother looking for actors in the first place? Shouldn't they be looking for some professors or one with a high GK?

In my opinion, people like BigB, SRK and Surya are merely taken because they are big names (sort of) and people might want to watch the programmes just to see their favorite stars on screen. In that sense, even SRK couldn't compete with BigB. If you ask me, I believe that SRK is far more intelligent and knowledgeable than BigB is and he was more entertaining than BigB. Nevertheless, the attraction that BigB has is something even SRK couldn't compete with which is why his version of KBC fell flat.

Though I'm not a fan of Surya, but I think he must have a fairly good fan following for the producers to choose him. Probably the producers thought that Surya might be a safer bet than Vijay who mumbles his dialogues. Just my two cents

Yes, Surya is definitely a better choice than Vijay for KBC. But, are there no knowledgable actors in the industry?:spin

wowww..The ad for the game show is on air, but the host is kept as secret. Thanks for opening the doors.I'm still cant judge whether he will fit the role.

 

Probably he was trying too hard to fit into BigB's shoes. As much as I loathe anything that has to do with BigB, I must say that the man is a one-man show and that is something that I believe SRK doesn't possess.

At every show, SRK needs an able partner, one that he can put down in order to bring himself up. That's why he needs someone like Saif.

Did you see SRK promoting his Ra.One in Saregamapa Lil Champs Finale show recently? Even the contestants didn't look interested in seeing him. Poor SRK ended up doing his Chamak Chalo in front of people who were more interested in cheering up and hugging the winning contestants rather than watch his flop dance. Bet things would have been different had Kareena been there to spice it up.

Anu I didn't know that. I always thought that Surya has a good command of Tamil language. If he struggles through his dialogues, then I must say that it doesn't show on screen. I grew to appreciate his voice in Guru- his voice was too outstanding for a bad actor like Abhishek.

In fact, amongst the current Tamil young actors, I think Surya has the best command of the language. Most actors either shouts or mumbles through their dialogues with little regards to language proficiency. Probably there lies Surya's plus point in being chosen as the host.

 

Yes.. command over the language is too good.
But my point is on a show like this he cant rehearse enough.. until and otherwise they give him the question well in advance

The very first thought I had when I read this title was, "Alright.. How hard it could be? Sharathkumar did it".

I don't think the host should have excellent General Knowledge. They don't prepare the questions; the answer [A or B or C or All of the above] should be shown in their computer; He have to say 'Computer, lock it' , somebody from behind would lock it or whatever that mean, and bring the next question - he don't even have to touch the computer; Only that the host should have the ability to keep the conversation alive with the player, and couple of questions to confuse his answer... So I think anybody with chatting interest can do it.
