My DS 3rd Bday Bash

Hey All,

It has been almost 6 months that my DS Bday got over but still all the effort that i had put in really showed up!!!!

Planning for the Event (Count):
A month before we decided that we would go in for a Grand party for my Son's third party and started taking Head Count of the People whom we would be Inviting. The count came around 40.

Budget:
Me and my Hubby decided that we would have the entire Expenses of the party around 10K and STRICTLY not more than that. This did not include his bday dress.

Location
we decided we would celebrate the party at our home if we could get the Furnitures dumped in the Balcony.

Bday dress:
First on the List was getting my Son Bday dress. I wanted something that really suits his colour(Very Fair) and not Dominates him. I dint want to go too ethnic and choose a Kurtha and Pyjama. Me and my hubby hunted lots and lots of shops and Finally settled with a pair of Suspenders (Blue) and a Striped Blue and Green Tshirt. It looked so Cute on him.the Price came around 1100/-

Invitation:
I wanted some customized invite and not the cards that is sold in shops. My DS loves cars and wanted something based on. me and my friend found one paid website wherein i could design the Invite with the Venue , timings and other Details. Attached is the Invite. I rolled the Invite and tied a Blue Satin ribbon around. My Invite is ready

Food:
This was the most toughest and the time taking part in the whole event. deciding on the food . I had asked option from Ilites here also on this. First we visited the nearby Sweet Chariot-Shop Bangla and lady was really courteous enough to offer us lot of menu options (Chaat items , chole bhaturas etc etc). The taste was awesome. But the prices were pinching our pocket. Apart from this few other things were also bothering us. a. The Qualtiy. I really dint like that Place as there were lot of Flies. How bad it would be if there was a fly in the Biriyani served ..Disgusting isnt it. b. The Lady dint call to us even though she promised to do reg the rates. That showed her promptness. Next we tried with ":Adigas".Again the rates were freezing and also they want a min order of 50.Our next and ultimate destination was "Shanthi sagar" and am happy that i made a good decision by selecting this restaurant. They customized the order for us and their menu included a full course Soup, Starters(gobi and Panner), Dal fry, Veg Makhani , Paneer Butter Masala, fried rice, Curd Rice, Rasam, Curd Rice, papad and Ice cream.They charged 150 per plate and this includes Transporation, Plates and ppl to serve. Phew...The major work was done.

Cake:
I dint work much on it. we went to Cake walk and selected a cake in the shape of a Ferrari Car with the number 3 in it.The Cost came around 1500.

Chairs and Tables:
We hird some 40 Plastic chairs and Tables (With Cloth Covering) to be used for serving Dinner.The rate was Rs.5/ per chair and 150 per table(3).


The Bday was on a Saturday and My execution began from the previous Monday. I took Colour Printouts wrapped them with Ribbons . This process took me two days . Me and my DS started distributing Invites to neighbours and Friends. Also we started calling people thru Phone also.

Return Gifts:
i really wanted to buy some nice useful and exciting return Gifts. I had bought 4 set of Kids Wallet , one for Girls below 5 years ( basically cute wallet with smileys and Sponge Bob square Pants ), . power Puff Girls Wallet for Girls above 5 years. Similar Kinds of Walltes for Boys(Well i dont remember the character). Also got some whistles alsong with the Wallets.


The previous day of the Bday i had to call up the restaurant and the chair Table Hiring fellow to remind on the orders.meanwhile my dad came to attend the party.

The dday had come. I woke up with super excitement . Kissed and wished my Son a super Duper Bday. Then me, my DH and Ds went to temple. Wishes kept flowing in from relatives and friends. Busy attending all the calls. In the meanwhile my entire Preparation for the party began at around 10 in the Morning. Me, my FIL, and dad moved all the Furnitures(Huge set) to the Balcony . So the entire Drawing room was Empty (apart from the Show case and TV Stand). Then we vacated a room so that dinner can be served there. The cot and the Furnitures in my IL 's room were dumped in to my room. (My room almost looked like a store room). Then the whole process of sweeping and Mopping the House. by then itwas 1 in the afterrnoon. Then i had Lunch and started decorating the House with Colour papers , balloons(all all one as my hubby was busy studying for exams). By then it was 4. Then i realised the handy camera dint have tape. Hubby went and bought it. The cameras were charged . By then it was 5 and i was damn exhausted.

My Aunt, Uncle , cousin and his wife were the first guests to come (at 5 in the evening). My Aunt and MIl were Busy setting the Dining Table with Plastic cups, Juices, Chocolates. By then the Chairs and Table and come and my Uncle , FIL and my father were arranging them. My cousin's wife was helping me with last minute decorations . My cousin and hubby had gone to get the cake. 6.30 on dot everybody were dressed up and evrything was ready. I got my SOn wear the new dress and there was my sweet lil boy whose smile could melt anyone's heart.

Guests started coming in and we cut the cake at 7:00 PM. The Dinner was served at 7:30 and people really enjoyed it. Kids loved the cake and the icecreams and were going for 3-4 rounds. All of them had a nice time chatting with their friends and relatives and by the time we could have dinner it was 10.The Food was so delicious. People started leaving and the party was all over by 11. Phew...Everybody appreciated me for hosting me a wonderful Party...
