The Milestone

Today has been a great day for me. It has been a long journey which started when I joined IL in September 2010. It was with great trepidation and doubts I stepped into this arena :hide:, because I was not used to using the computer and was far from comfortable on the net. My abilities extended to sending e mails. :rotfl

As a result, my initial months were spent more in reading stuff on various forums, mainly the relationships forum. That is where my journey started. Initially, due to my reluctance to touch BH's computer, I use to log on on my mobile. Naturally, posting anything using a touch pad on a mobile was an arduous task, as a result of which I could not post much. And I never knew where to go to look for my post. Had not discovered much about the different forums.

It was only around the first week of January 2011 that I got BH's old notepad (he felt sorry to see me struggling to type on the mobile :-D). After that there was no stopping me. I don't remember how, but I got onto CM. What a wonderful experience that was. I made so many friends there and it was a very heart warming experience. Their acceptance of me from their hearts was a very touching feeling. From there to contacting them outside and getting to know them more personally was a very rewarding experience.

From replying to threads, the next step was to post threads. That was the start of my love affair with snippets. Followed by the blog section. Snippets did a lot for me by way of revealing to me that I had an ability to write. Having said which, I was not so sure whether I could write blogs - there was something intimidating about that word. :hide: But eventually I decided to take the plunge - a decision I never regretted. From there to external blogs helped me expand my circle of contacts and acquaintances.

Came July and a spate of meet-ups brought me in direct touch with some of the most wonderful people I have ever met to date. Had never imagined I would meet so many friends through the virtual world and technology. :thumbsup

Have witnessed such a plethora of posts and emotions on IL - from grossly dejected posts with posters seeking some hope, others trying to reach out and help, people sharing their thoughts, ideas, skills, making others laugh, go emotional ...... Wow!!!!! Simply amazing and mind boggling.

And today I reached a new milestone with my 5000th post. :banana :cheers arty Am over the moon. Am trying to calm myself down. Am overwhelmed. Was dreaming of this day for a long time.

This was my journey from Jan 2011 to Dec 2011. It has seen me acquiring some computer skills the fun way Computer Typing. It has also been a journey of self discovery for me.
