The sounds of the train rambling, Rahul gripping the rods, Simram looking back and forth at Rahul and her father, then the moment her father thinks ‘Let go’
Before you think I’m a movie buff writing transcripts of scenes of a movie, let me tell you what I want to tell you..
I took small careful steps holding my mother’s little finger, trying to balance my weight, I took the next one.. Slowly but very carefully she let go.. Lo! I was mad that she let go but that’s how I learnt how to walk
I peddled carefully, again balancing my weight and my cycles’ weight, I asked my father just not to take off his firm hands from the carrier, but I was amazed that he let go but I continued to balance..
I said ‘hi’ to new people, walked into my new college.. My mother warned me don’t talk to the boys, my father said talk but don’t get too close… I wondered should I or should I not, in the same dilemma, I dint and I did.. I befriended many, my parents feared, but then they let it go. And so, I found my life’s love..
All this makes me think, how important it is to just ‘let go’.. In the early years of life it is physically letting go.. Then comes emotionally and mentally.. The former can just alter your life slightly but the later can make or break relationships.. When a mother does not let go of her son, her daughter in law curses her.. When a father does not let go of his son, he hates the career he chose because of his father.. When the parents do not let go of her daughter, she hates the person she married… When I don’t let go of my sad memories, I make my present sad.. When I don’t let go of sorrow, it encompasses me.. When I don’t let go of my junior at work, she loathes me.. When I don’t let go of my husband's unintended words, it breaks me..
Again, I wonder, just a simple change in attitude to just ‘let go’ at the right time, makes my life so beautiful not difficult, makes my relationships sweet but not bitter… Of course letting go does not mean break off, but just means I respect your thoughts, needs and actions.
Friends, just wanted to share with you all a thought that triggered while I was responding to Kamalji’s post ‘Maa’. Thanks Kamal ji. This is my first post (other than fb's)

Glad to know its was a timely post :) Ya, it happened a lot to me in the past, before I learnt to let go when my guiding hand was not necessary and was just doing the opposite of the intended purpose... :)

    Hi Everhappy,

What a beautiful thread. Loved the way you have expressed yourself. As it happens, I have used up all my 4 nominations for this month, otherwise I would have loved to nominate your thread for the finest post of the month. :)
