    Hi Hitakh

Its nothing wrong if you offer milk directly on Shiv Ling. But in Dubai Shiv Mandir, they say to mix with water because, the milk gets blocked in the drain as the quality of milk is so thick and creamy as devotees buy full cream milk. Its not like India where the suppliers add water to it. Hence the temple organisers insist you to offer milk with water...... there is no thumb rule on it.

    Om Namahshivaya.

    Best Rgds
    Shanti

    Dear Shanti,

Thanks for the information and observing all my details, with that you came to know that i m in bur dubai and am happy to see that you are also in same area. When i was pouring milk with my son who is not even two years old, somebody there in temple commented on me that you should not pour only milk and i felt very bad. I went in hot son and managing everything with my son and wanted that my son also enjoy and feel the day in that environment and with their behaviour my mood got spoiled. They were just pushing people out and shouting on them.

But then i thought may be i m wrong so i ask here to clear my doubt.

    :)

    Hi

Thanks. Hitaksh, I go to Shiv Mandir every Monday. I know them all very well. But I go in the evening. They allow milk pouring in the morning only. Earlier, we have directly poured milk when we used to go in the morning earlier, but now due to parking problem, I go alone in the evening.

When I first noticed to pour the milk mixed with water from the big container thru a specific small utensil, I asked them for which they replied the reason is thickness and blockage.

Also on Tuesdays many pour oil to Hanumanji idol (mornings only), earlier I have also done. But now they say only men should put. The volunteers there, are sometimes rude just to manage the crowd only. Else people do not move at all. I am sorry that they behaved to your 2 year old rudely. they can be polite to kids.

Did you go on Shivrathiri Day? We went in the evening to the temple on Shivrathri day.

I saw you are from Bur Dubai. Where in BD you stay?

    Best Regards
    Shanti
