    Dear Nimmi,

Are you still trying to lose weight??? As for leslie's workout, they are low impact workout. They are good to keep you on move and better than no exercise at all but after a while they might stop challenging the body.

When she says "walk and walk and walk", this time instead of walking start jogging in the place, you will start sweating :)

If the body heat is created then ac cannot stop us from sweating.

    Have a great day ahead.

    regards

    Dear IndianGuy,

Awesome example. 1kg per month is an achievable target. The smaller the target the more committed we are with our diet and exercise schedule.

Instead of pushing and stressing yourself to lose lot of weight, you worked towards an achievable target. This will not only keep you on track always but will also help you not to put on weight in future. Nice work IndianGuy.

    Have a great day ahead.

    regards

    Dear Prss,

Knead the dough with warm water and when the dough is ready. Take half tsp oil or ghee in your palms, nicely rub them and then again knead the dough.

If you get curd from supermarket, use the thick curd to make the dough, the natural fats in the curd help to enhance the gluten of the flour.

If you want to make soft chappaties here are the points

    1. Dough should be super soft. You can use 1 or half tsp of oil, like the way I described above to knead the dough. Remember, this oil will be divided among all the members of the family and some of it will stick to the utensil in which you are kneading the dough. So if you look at it, there is not much oil in the dough.

    2. You should not leave the roti for a long time on the pan. Lightly grill it from both the side and then transfer it on direct heat so that it puffs up. As soon as you keep it aside, dip a spoon in ghee and let the ghee fall back in the container, and then apply the back of the spoon to the roti.

    3. If you make chapathi only on pan. Then light grill both side, there should be tiny brown spots on the sides. Then drop 4 - 5 drops of oil on one side of the chappathi, spread well and turn the side, do the same thing with the other side. The drops should be spread nicely across the chappathi and with the back of the spoon spread it to cover maximum area of the chapathi.

The whole procedure actually involves very less oil per person which even doctors will allow.

A little fat is required by the body, I do not see any reasons why we should avoid it. We can construct almost the same taste with extreme less oil.

Say congrats to your MIL for losing weight. Good show prss.

    Have a great day ahead.

    regards

    Dear Rupali,

Good show. Why don't you write back telling me what your husband will like to eat at night. This way I will be able to suggest the same dishes in less oil.

Its always helps to know what a person likes to eat and then construct the same meal with less oil and calories.

    Waiting for your reply.

    Have a great day ahead.

    regards

There is no ideal weight at all. Weight is very much related to height.
What is important is that we are in a healthy BMI range.
I am at a 34 BMI now and I want it to be less than 25. Thats my target. So, I need to be around 65 kgs atleast.
What I am trying to say is. Please donot compare your weight with others. Each one of us will have to be in a weight range thats right for our height. Thats all.

My height is 163 cms. I am on 29 going on 30. Had a C-section delivery. My son is 2 yrs now.

I have PCOD and thats one reason for my weight gain. I am on medication for that and it aids weight loss. Other than that, I have changed my habit of munching on high calorie snacks. No chocolates. No Icecreams. I have BF, Lunch and Dinner and have low calorie snacks inbetween - like apples, cucumber, butter milk. All as per Shiva's advise and its working for me.
I do walking for 45 minutes atleast 5 days a week and / or play Table Tennis whenever possible.

I am sure Shiva will be guiding you thro' your weightloss and that will be even better than what I had written for you here.

So, comeon, cheer up! Have a happy weight loss journey!

    Dear Jazz,

Thanks for your appreciation and kind words.

Wow, you have a fabulous height. I am glad you decided to start the weight loss journey young. Your age is your plus point. Old people usually say that youth has power, they can hit the ground with a force and the fountain of water will emerge. So, you have way to go my girl.

There is nothing to be ashamed of being 96kg. Did you murder someone or is there a criminal case running against you??? People who do such crimes roam freely in the society with head held high. So why on earth are you ashamed.

The best thing about you is that you know your weak points. The winner always know her weakness, once you conquer your weakness you will emerge as a winner for sure. The game is all about knowing our weaknesses and over coming them. Its all about observing ourselves and making the right moves against ourselves :).

Hope is till you have the desire to lose weight. Till you see yourself thin and till you want to wear beautiful dresses and make heads turn. If you have all this then hope is there, lot of hope is there for you.

Agree to few points. Like you won't lose 96 kgs in 96 days. Accept the fact the weight loss will happen but will happen slow. Once you accept this fact jazz, believe me you will be rock solid. No one can then shake you. Because you know your ground and you have accepted the facts.

The first thing during weight loss that you should do is to start enjoying life. Wear nice clothes, have fun and stop looking at food as enemy. Let people say what they want to say but you just know the fact that you are working towards weight loss and healthy lifestyle changes.

When I was losing weight, people told me lot of things like I have huge manly structure and I will never look slender and thin. My aunt was so upset seeing me eating salads and soups and saying no to oily food that she called me and told me "Shiva please accept the fact that you will never have a figure like normal slender girls. Your structure is huge and you will always look huge." It did hurt me because I had lost few kgs but after feeling sad I reasoned with myself "How can anyone know how I will look until I lose weight", 20 kgs down my same aunt says "I am just shocked to see you."

So, listen to people from one ear and take it out from the other.

I already told you that your young age is your bonus point.

Start by writing your diet and letting me know if you can exercise or walk for 30 minutes daily. Follow what I suggest for few days and see the results.

Results come from commitment. You have to be very committed with the plan and exercise and the result will show.

All the very best and a warm welcome to you on this thread.

    Have a great day ahead.

PS: By any chance do you own Honda jazz.

    regards

    Dear Mrs,

Glad to know that you are doing fine.

Take oats/muslei in a bowl, add milk, few drops of vanilla essence, little sugar, frozen fruits like strawberry, blueberry etc (of your choice). Mix well and keep in the fridge over night. They are ready to be eaten next morning.

    Hope this helps.

    Have a great day ahead.

    regards

    Dear Vannu,

OMG!!!!. How did it happen. I just don't like street dogs. I am kind to animals but in India I am scared of street dogs they are a big nuisance.

When I was in Mumbai, I used to go for walks in a college campus and there would be a pack of atleast 15 dogs, it was so scary. I gave up on walking because of that. They even attacked someone from the college, it was so sad.

First thing. please search for a dog free walking space. Even if it means walking on your terrace. We can walk at a very high speed in any corner of this world, so think about all the places and then decide.

Get well soon vannu, god bless you dear. I hope it did not pain alot.

Lots and lots of love to you.

    regards

    Dear Jazz,

Just wanted to let you know that I started my weight loss at 86 kgs with a broken back. I was told that weight loss is difficult in 30s but I lost my weight only in 30s not in 20s.

I was told that I will never be able to walk properly leave alone exercising but today I not only walk but also run not to mention that I exercise too.

Its us who create the mental blocks of age and us who limit ourselves with boundaries. Just because the world says so we agree with world and never question our own potential.

Just because it was difficult for few women to lose weight in their 40s it does not mean it will be difficult for you too. Pick up "Health magazine", they usually feature women in their 40s who have lost weight. They are women like us. The last month issue features Mandira Bedi who is hitting 40.

Break free of such assumptions. Until you will try you will never know if you can lose weight or not. The point is trying and keep trying.

We all know that we all have unlimited potential still we all allow ourselves to give up and accept life as it is, very few of us stand against the EVEN to become the ODD ones out.

    regards
