    I have designed my marapachi bommais|dolls for navarathri golu in a traditional way.
    But i don't no what hair design to keep to it.
    Where shall i get vig in Bangalore,
    And give me some innovative ideas to make my navaratri auspicious.

    You can get some jewels and decorate with garlands.I have attached the picture of my marapachi which was given by my parents as seer.I think it is bought in bangalore.It is readymade one.Hope it may give you some idea.

    And also one great help that when and where can i purchase dolls in bangalore.
    In my home they have huge collection. now i got married so i have to purchase all the dolls. so kindly suggest me the shops with feasible cost.

    Shantha......for golu bommais in Bangalore, you can try at Kaveri.....I have heard that they have lots of beautiful bommais there...

    Also somewhere market place in Malleswaram I have been told that you get very good bommais...

    Thanks a lot for ur reply. I had already enquired Kavery emporium as well as poombukar, they told me they are not selling it. As you said i will try in Malleswaram,.. and also can i start shopping by this end of week or else to go next week? From when shall they start selling it? coz its very far from my place(marathahalli)

    Shantha, these are called "pattadagombe/pattadabombe" in kannada and are very traditional. You will not get them in places like cauvery emporium. If you are going to MVM, there is a shop on firstfloor (on top of grandhige angadi)....near where they sell heaps of kumkum (diagonally across asha sweets?? in 8th cross), I forget the name of the shop...he might have traditional ones or your best bet would be avenue road - your best bet would be that street (8th and sampige). Hope this helps. And thanks for posting your dolls...gives us an idea if we want to redecorate our dolls.

    I don't know the availablity in Bangalore. But at Chennai, the hair only is available at Mylapore. I got the hair, pasted to the marapachi bommai and done the decoration like this. have a look. viji
