You can try these home remedies which will promote hair growth:

• Make a pack with two teaspoons of amla powder, bhringaraj powder and henna and mix it with curd. Soak it for an hour and apply over the scalp in the form of a pack and retain it for 45 mins and then rinse and use lemon water for the last rinse. It acts as an excellent hair conditioner as well as promotes hair growth. Try this once in a week.
• Take amla (100gm), shikakai (100gm), brahmi (10gm), anaarchhilka ( pomegranate skin)(20gm), bhringraj (10 gm). Soak them overnight in an iron utensil. Blend and make a paste. Apply well into the scalp. Keep it for 1-2 hours and wash it off with warm water.
• Two tablespoons of fenugreek (methi) seeds soaked overnight in water. The softened seeds should be grounded into a fine paste in the morning and applied over the scalp & left for half an hour and then washed thoroughly. This is highly affective to remove dandruff & hence prevent hair loss.
• Mix oils such as coconut oil, sesame oil and olive oil and heat mildly. When it is warm apply gently over the scalp for 15 mins and leave it for an hour and then wash it with a mild shampoo.
• Boil curry leaves in coconut oil and use it regularly. It will promote hair growth and keeps the hair black.
According to Ayurveda, early hair loss is often related to body type and the balance of the doshas. Pitta individuals, and those who have excess pitta in their system, are more likely than the other body types to lose their hair early in life, or to find that their hair becomes prematurely thin or gray. Excess pitta in the sebaceous gland, at the root of the hair, or folliculitis (inflammation of the hair follicles) can make the person start losing hair.

ALOEVERA:
To reduce pitta and preserve the health of your hair, drink aloe vera juice (1 cup) or take some aloe vera gel (1 tablespoon with a pinch of cumin) 3 times a day for about 3 months.

AMLA: It is an excellent herbal remedy for baldness. It is the richest source of natural vitamin C and other anti-oxidants and prevent hair loss and helps in regeneration of new hair. It is a miracle herb and the results are unbelievable. It is a best natural remedy for pitta, which is the main cause of premature falling and graying of hair.

OIL MASSAGE:

Another effective way to pacify pitta is to rub some coconut oil on your scalp and on the soles of your feet at bedtime. Wear some old socks, and to preserve the health of your pillow, wear a loose woolen cap or cover the pillow with a towel so it won't get damaged by the oil.

• Massaging the scalp with brahmi oil or bhringaraj oil at bedtime can help to prevent hair loss. In addition to the qualities of the oil, the massage itself will improve circulation at the root of the hair, thus bringing more nutrients to support hair growth.
• Massaging the hair with vitamin E oil may also be effective in preventing or slowing hair loss.
Fenugreek-curry leaves Oil:
Take a bunch of methi (fenugreek) leaves & curry leaves ( meetha neem) wash and grind smoothly. Make them into small balls and keep in the sun for two days or more (till the moisture evaporates). Heat Sesame oil (gentle heat) and put in the dried fenugreek-curry leaves balls. Keep on slow fire. Cool the oil. Keep aside. After ten days, strain out the fenugreek-curry balls and use the oil. This is good for luxuriant hair growth .
COMMENTS: The smell of the fenugreek could get strong.
FOOD FOR YOUR HAIR:
Healthy hair depends upon a nourishing diet. Dairy products such as cheese, milk, and yogurt are beneficial for the hair(assuming you digest them well), as are white radish, coconut, cooked apples, and cabbage are also useful.

• Eat a handful of white sesame seeds every morning. One handful of these small seeds contains about 1 ,200 mg. of calcium and magnesium and is a good source of nourishment for your hair.
• Eating 50 gms. of cabbage leaves daily helps in the growth of new hair.
• Taking the juice of wheat grass daily for forty days checks hair-loss.
• The juice of long cucumber facilitates thick growth of hair. It contains silicon and sulphur in plenty. Taking mixed juice of cucumber, carrot and spinach also helps in the growth of hair.
HERBS FOR YOUR HAIR:
Certain herbs are useful for nourishing the hair. Try this beneficial formula

• dashamoola 5 parts
• bhringaraj 4 parts
• jatamamsi 3 parts
At bedtime, add 1/2 teaspoon of this mixture to 1 cup of goat's milk or cow’s milk, heat to boiling, and drink. This will build up the bones and nourish the hair.

MINERAL SUPPLEMENTS:

You may also be able to improve the condition of your hair by taking mineral supplements to be sure you have enough calcium, magnesium, and zinc. Take a supplement containing approximately the following daily dose of minerals:
calcium magnesium zinc

• 1,200 mg.
• 600 mg.
• 60 mg. Take these supplements at bedtime.
COCONUT WATER FOR CALCIUM:
Drinking coconut water (the "juice" inside the fresh coconut) also helps to provide essential calcium for hair growth. You can have 1/2 cup a day. Drinking coconut milk (made from coconut "meat" blended in water) is also helpful, but is a second choice.
NOTE: If you have high cholesterol, you may not want to use so much coconut, as coconut is high in saturated fat, which increases cholesterol in the blood.

ANTI STRESS TEA:
To help you deal with stress, make a tea of equal proportions of jatamansi and brahmi. Steep 1 teaspoon of the mix in 1 cup of hot water, and drink 2 or 3 times a day.

MASSAGE:

Stress, stiffness in the neck, and whiplash from a car accident can also contribute to hair loss. To soften the neck muscles, relieve pain, and reduce stress, massage your neck and shoulder muscles before showering.

NECK EXERCISES:

You can also do some simple neck exercises, such as turning your head to the left 3 times, to the right 3 times, lifting it up 3 times, moving it down toward your chest 3 times, and then rolling it gently in a circle 3 times in each direction.

YOGA POSTURES:

Yoga postures can help to relieve tension in your neck and indirectly aid in keeping hair healthy. Recommended postures include the Shoulder Stand, Camel pose, Cobra pose, and Cow pose.

MEDITATE FOR RELAXATION:

You will also find meditation an effective means for reducing stress and tension. Try sitting quietly and observing your breathing. Or do pranayam daily in the morning.

Dear Sweetoo,
Can we soak fenugreek seeds with curd overnight and apply the paste at morning? I do this for the past two years, it also gives good results. And weekly once I boil curry leaves with coconut oil and apply it before hair wash. It makes the hair conditioned and manageable.
Your tips are highly useful ones.
Thankyou and My best wishes to continue your process.

Thanks dear, for liking my tips..& sharing your hair secrets..
Yes it is very good for hair to apply fenugreek seeds presoaked in curd, the curd conditions while the fenugreek protects the hair but for this i think u've to wash the hair with shampoo ..but when u soak it in plain water u don't need to use shampoo .. as fenugreek contains natural saponins which cleanses the hair gently.
Apart from curing problems in the hair fenugreek keeps the system clean and prevents the occurrence of hair problems so u can also do the following once in a week..
Soak the seeds in water overnight and drink the water first thing in the next morning, the taste is not compelling but the the benefits outweigh the taste & then crush fenugreek seeds and add the powder to curd. Apply in the hair and leave for about half an hour before washing.
I agree, curry leaves does make the hair root stronger and healthier and save it from falling more... Which is GREAT!, u can also apply curry leaves paste into the roots of hair once in a week, reseachers say that it also turns grey hair to black.
I am sure our readers will also be benefited.
